Zelensky is irate. To put it mildly. The Green Goblin is hopping mad. Where is he going to find 2.1 billion dollars to pay the angry widows of these 6000 fallen soldiers??? And if he can't find the billions of dollars what happens to him when they descend on his Bastille Fortress with pitchforks?

See, in Zelensky's Ukraine families of KIA receive $360,000 in compensation. But it has to be verified. Compensations are not paid out for MIAs. This is important because it saves the Green Goblin billions of dollars in compensation money. Given that until the body of a Ukrainian KIA in Russian custody is returned to regime in Kyiv and verified, it is considered MIA. So it benefits the corrupt Oligarchy in Kyiv if its fallen soldiers never return to Ukraine.

In the run up to the Istanbul meeting the Ukrainian side asked the Russian side for a copy of its memorandum. The Russians refused. Meaning the Ukrainians went into the negotiating room blind. That was when the Russians offered the poisoned chalice: a return to Ukraine of thousands of bodies of its dead soldiers. The Ukrainian delegation was caught in a trap. They could not possibly deny their fallen soldiers a trip back home and a decent burial. They had to grit their teeth and accept the poisoned chalice while awaiting the wrath of the Duce.
What possible reason has Zelensky for refusing to accept bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers?
