Washington (CNN)A Russian oligarch who was questioned by special counsel Robert Mueller and recently sanctioned by the US visited President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen in Trump Tower during the presidential transition in January 2017, according to video reviewed by CNN.The January 9, 2017, Trump Tower appearance by Viktor Vekselberg, which was also reported Friday by The New York Times, adds to the questions swirling over the payments to Cohen, which Mueller's team questioned Vekselberg about after the FBI stopped his private jet at a New York-area airport earlier this year.
Vekselberg, chairman of Russian asset manager Renova Group, was accompanied at Trump Tower by Andrew Intrater, who is Vekselberg's cousin and head of Columbus Nova. Vekselberg is Columbus Nova's biggest client.
Didn't you get the memo? ...... The Russian thing is over now it's obstruction!

If you can believe the NYT.
There is no indication that Mr. Mueller suspects Mr. Vekselberg of wrongdoing.

Do we have any real information to go on? (Or is the meeting enough to flip out about?)
Golly gee. What a surprise. A Russian businessman doing business in the USA. Those billionaires must have interests and investments all over the Planet. Let me know if the USA was/is the only Nation he stopped in. January 2017 and I think he was checking on his snow shovel investments, or not?

Geez, these guys just get caught in lie after lie, with more revelations coming out daily. :dohhttps://www.cnn.com/2018/05/25/poli...-trump-tower-michael-cohen-meeting/index.html

Considering Mueller doesn't seem to "indicate" anything, I find the bolded to be of little solace.Didn't you get the memo? ...... The Russian thing is over now it's obstruction!

Though I must admit the NYT sources & analysis are usually pretty good.
I wouldn't be so sure about that.I really think you are at the stage where grasping at straws is all you have left regarding Russia. Look at the indictments he has moved on to tax fraud etc.
If he were really looking for collusion wouldn't he at least bring it the HRC law firm and the DNC to find out why they paid to have Russian sources to produce dirt on Trump. Lack of doing it makes Mueller/Rosenstein stink of partisanship at the least.
The FBI/Comey/Mueller have been at this for nearly two years. You take me as a fair person when will you admit that while Russia may have wanted to help Trump where was no conspiracy to work together.
For the guy who said none of his team met with Russians, there are a lot of Russians they met with.Any meeting by Trump or his current/former associates is enough for leftwingers and their nevertrump cohorts.
Tax fraud, you mean the crime Al Capone spent the rest of his life in jail for committing? That must mean that Capone wasn't guilty of murder, bootlegging, racketeering, etc.I really think you are at the stage where grasping at straws is all you have left regarding Russia. Look at the indictments he has moved on to tax fraud etc.

They only stopped his plane to talk to him....and give him Trump's marching orders.
Well that's hardly anything conclusive. It's interesting that Mitch McConnell was seen entering the building that same day.
I really enjoyed how Lowell said that Kushner must be a mere witness "based on the kind of questions they were asking" in the interview.I wouldn't be so sure about that.
The targets themselves are usually interviewed last, and then indictments are issued if there's sufficient evidence. We don't know who if any are targets, but we do know Trump's family and inner sanctum will be interviewed last for a plethora of reasons, including political. And if anyone's indictable, they may not even be interviewed.
So I make no hard prognostications until Mueller is done. Then we see what he has. And I suspect he'll have a fair amount of items, from Obstruction (Trump) to Conspiracy (Don Jr, meeting), to lining one's pockets (Kushner).
Well that's hardly anything conclusive.
But the Russian in the OP did donate to the Republican Party, as well as to Trump, besides Cohen.
Fair enough. I can respect that. That's why I made no claim other than I found it interesting.
