is this male Ho -"army" threat for NATO ?

"Pleshka is the most notorious place in the Moscow homosexual environment. Gays can be spotted their all day long, although gay prostitutes and their pimps appear in the evening time. Some of them put on military uniform and pretend to be soldiers. Such a “professional” asks for $300, although a genuine military man on Pleshka charges only 20-30 dollars.

The so-called affiliated army prostitutes make the biggest earnings in comparison with the two of the above-mentioned groups. They “serve” in their own military units waiting for clients in the barracks.

Finding an agent to establish a contact with army prostitutes is very easy. There are several websites on the Russian Internet that carry quite a list of adequate advertisements. However, going on a gay adventure in the military can be a risky endeavor. It is strongly recommended not to show money to soldiers before sex. “If they see the money they may kill you without giving it a second thought. Five hundred rubles ($20) is a whole fortune in the army,” a man who wished to remain anonymous said.

Whenever I want absolutely accurate reportage and up to the minute authenticity, I turn to Pravda, with 106 uninterrupted years of honest and neutral relaying of real news.

How did you get that from the post? The OP just pointed out the degree to which the male prostitute business is enmeshed with the Russian military.

We're on one of our Nigeria with Snow type threads in this schizopohrenic world some of you inhabit..

The Russian army couldn't fight its way out of a paper bag.

NATO armies are superior in every way.

Russia represents no threat to anyone.

Hooray. Let's move on.

Another systemic problem in the Russian military is hazing. Dozens of new recruits die every year due to officer/NCO hazing.

actually , thousands die every year, in red army more died from hazing than from pushtun bullets in A-stan

Hazing is a problem which has been tackled quite aggressively in recent years. It's still there to an extent, but is much reduced and rightly so.

Many officers have been dismissed for failing to eradicate hazing, and the increasing professionalisation of the armed forces, coupled with improved conditions and pay, all make for a much more attractive proposition.

Russia has its problems, and this was one of them. It will be eradicated.

Ignore Litwin's claims above about thousands dying every year. That is a total gross exaggeration and lie - then and now.

The situation would be markedly better right now but for the sanctions right....because it restricted money flow to the military....Putin and the rest had some big ideas of upgrades that have been partly suppressed....

Something for the complainers to contemplate.

Never heard of any of it while I was on active duty 1966-70. Learning of, or discovering, consensual male-male sex yes, forced male-male sex, never. No knowledge whatsoever of forced male-male sex during my time and at my permanent duty station, Ft. Myer, next to Pentagon.

It was when gay sex or just being gay was illegal -- strictly -- so those few discovered in the act on post were busted out of the Army. Those discovered. It's just that I and everyone I knew had no knowledge of forced male-male sex during the time. I doubt it occurred at my duty station cause had it occurred we definitely would have heard about it sooner or later if not immediately. Our several companies of infantry were billeted in buildings next to one another in a row and EP, NCO, officers circulated horizontally in a wide circle of colleagues, acquaintances, friends, buddies, families to include their kids. No reports of it; nothing...

Male Rape in the Military Being Confronted

When men in the military rape other men in the ranks, no one wants to talk about it. In this week's Newsweek, Jesse Ellison looks at why the sexual assault of males in the service is finally being confronted
.

04.03.11

[Russian immigrant] Greg Jeloudov arrived at Fort Benning, Georgia, for basic training in May 2009. The soldiers in his unit, responding to his Russian accent and New York City address, called him a "champagne socialist" and a "commie faggot." He was, he told Newsweek, "in the middle of the viper's pit." He was gang-raped in the barracks by men who said they were showing him who was in charge of the United States. Shortly after his attack, his assailants threatened to send him "back to Russia in half." When he reported the attack to unit commanders, he says they told him, "It must have been your fault. You must have provoked them."

Last year nearly 50,000 male veterans screened positive for "military sexual trauma" at the Department of Veterans Affairs, up from just over 30,000 in 2003. When Michael F. Matthews finally sought treatment for the PTSD caused by his rape, he says he had to wait six months for a VA space to open up. "I went to the group and there's all these guys from the Korean War through Desert Storm," he recalls. "And you say, 'Oh, my God.'"

While many might assume the perpetrators of such assaults are closeted gay soldiers, military experts and outside researchers say assailants usually are heterosexual. Like in prisons and other predominantly male environments, male-on-male assault in the military, experts say, is motivated not by homosexuality, but power, intimidation, and domination. Assault victims, both male and female, are typically young and low-ranking; they are targeted for their vulnerability. Often, in male-on-male cases, assailants go after those they assume are gay, even if they are not. "One of the reasons people commit sexual assault is to put people in their place, to drive them out," says Mic Hunter, author of Honor Betrayed: Sexual Abuse in America's Military. "Sexual assault isn't about sex, it's about violence."

Almost two decades later, the man whom Harding says raped him was arrested for raping multiple underage cadets at a junior ROTC program. He pleaded guilty to lewd and lascivious acts on a child. "They basically tell you you're going to have to keep working with these people day after day, night after night. You don't have a choice." His assailants told him that once deployed to Iraq, they would shoot him in the head. "They told me they were going to have sex with me all the time when we were there," he says.

Yes I know ......... there's no place for reasonable and rational posts in your dark world.

Hazing in the Russian military is so ingrained and systemic the practice has its own word - Dedovshchina.

Dedovshchina took many forms, from being assigned more chores and reduced rations, to severe beatings, rape with implements, and sadistic torture. The Russian MoD began masking such lethal incidents (hundreds of dedovshchina deaths every year) by declaring the majority as suicides. Incidents were greatly reduced in 2007 when military conscription was reduced to 1 year.

However, other forms of dedovshchina are on the increase. Minority conscripts such as ethnic Kalmyk's are brutalized by ethnic Russian officers. In some units, such as those with majority North Caucasians and Tuvans, the situation is reversed, and sees Russian officers ordering North Caucasian and Tuvan conscripts to beat the unit minority ethnic Russian soldiers who are slow to follow orders.

"Hazing is a problem which has been tackled quite aggressively in recent years" Olgino troll lied here as usual

"military units by the savage Caucasians. We talked with our old friend, a Dagestan expert and political scientist Magomed Osmanov, about the reason for this acute social phenomenon of the army and how to fight it.

Abandoned youth

- Magomed, what is the cause of army conflicts?

- Here it is necessary to dig a little history - and past years, and the newest. Dagestan is a country of warriors and abreks. War has always been considered the most worthy pastime in our country. This is in our genetic code. We fought the Persians for many years - and quite successfully. The raid system, obkladyvanie tribute to wealthy low-lying neighbors - the same Georgians - was considered a very prestigious occupation in the mountains. And then Russia came to us. After the pacification of the Caucasus, the raid system was buried and many mountaineers saw a lot of advantages in the existence of the White King under the wing. Russia designed a complex system of governance in a multinational republic that minimally curbs the rights of the highlanders. And then citizen Perestroika came to visit us all. And after her, Chechnya flashed. During the Chechen wars, Russia forgot about Dagestan. She was not up to him. All forces were thrown into the struggle against the bloodiest, most arrogant and criminal state in the world - free Ichkeria. The Chechen militants, in turn, dreamed of joining the ranks of their field units with militants from Dagestan. Still, such a resource disappears! And then in our republic, fierce unemployment raged. In fact, it is still high now, but then it was just massive, sweeping. Militants from Chechnya promised (and really gave) to recruits a lot of money, and only for the course of a young fighter in the camp. They say, you will practice with us for three months, and that’s all - take money, go home, you don’t owe anything to anyone. In fact, it was not so, of course. The militants, as is known, have the entrance — the ruble, the exit — fifteen, or rather, only on the battlefield.

- And how did the parents of recruits look at it? In the mountains, after all, a son without the knowledge of his father will not take a step.

- Well, firstly, everything is not so clear. Parents are sometimes happy to look after their son, to teach the mind, but in the face of degradation of social and economic life they have to plow around the clock to bring an extra penny to the house. They leave for work - the son is still asleep. Come - already asleep. Or vice versa, on the street with friends he dangles, smokes grass, waits, when the ancestors fall asleep, so that their brains are smaller. And then, the recruiters also blew into their ears, that the parents - they, of course, are good and love you, but they are hopelessly behind this life, and now it is time for a fair faith, jihad against infidels, and as a final reward - other delights of life. And the young man goes into a parallel world. On top of that, experienced rebel fighters came from rebellious Chechnya to leave, such as Robin Hoods from the forest, bearded, fired on new foreign cars, crunched with bundles of dollars. We called them "fighting krustykamki." But the youth was carried on these steep spots, threw their enthusiastic eyes on them. And often ran into the woods. Many returned home "two hundred." Someone never returned. But they drank a lot of blood to the feds.

Recruits from the Caucasus take shelves hostage (part 2)
140 Caucasian soldiers staged a riot on Kunashir Island. And how do they serve in other parts of the Russian army? ...

Chronicles of mayhem

According to law enforcement agencies, in the same Far East Military District 10 years ago, crimes “on ethnic grounds” accounted for 8% of the entire mass of disciplinary offenses. And today - 2.5 times more. About the same dynamics of gross misconduct and crimes on national grounds in the North Caucasus, Volga-Urals, Siberian military districts, in the Pacific and Baltic fleets. In Samara, unable to withstand the abuse of Caucasians, ordinary soldiers Stanislav Andreev (Russian) and junior sergeant Azamat Algaziyev (Kazakh) fled from the unit. A dozen southerners served in their company - Dagestanis, Avars, Dargins, Ingush, Kumyks. They organized a so-called “Jamaat” in the company - a community in a criminal manner. This “jamaat” of each non-Caucasian was subject to a tribute - from 50 to 1000 rubles. Those who did not agree were beaten half to death. Verkhovil Aslan Daudov, who had nothing to send a mat officer if he made a suggestion for misconduct.

From the testimony of Private Stanislav Andreev to the investigator of the military prosecutor's office:

- Once the platoon commander, Lieutenant Soldatov made a remark to Caucasians and was beaten. And no consequences. There was such a case. Ordinary Shakreev, Yevloev and Uzhakhov (also Caucasians) tried to split off the regiment commander for the rear of Major Leonov in the dining room. Again, nothing. The officers are afraid to contact them. Daudov made a rule for everyone who was not a member of the “Jamaat”: everyone who gets into the patrol around the city should bring him 100 rubles each. The soldiers had to extort money from the townspeople, and sometimes rob. Mostly - drunk. Daudov, moreover, forced me and Algaziyev to buy him berets (boots. - V. B.) for 200 rubles each. And from private Izmaylov as much as 2,000 rubles was extorted. When I and Algaziyev “jamaat” appointed a tribute of 500 rubles, we decided to run away. Besides, Azamat was severely beaten more than once ...

When the prosecutor's office of the Samara garrison began to unwind the case of “jamaat” (the leader Daudov was arrested first, then several of his accomplices), the investigators were amazed: all the injured soldiers were shaking with fear and were afraid to testify.

In the same Volga-Urals Military District, 72 soldiers from military unit 64 322 went into a run for several days - they were not allowed to live by the fools from their colleagues in the North Caucasus. And in the Yekaterinburg “school” there was a massive scuffle between Caucasians and recruits from Tatarstan. The result: a zinc coffin in Kazan, six wounded on both sides. And in the Baltic Fleet, due to the fact that Caucasians created an unbearable situation on a large landing ship, the command was forced to reshape the crew. It got to the point that the officers were afraid to climb aboard the ship, and if they stepped onto the ramp, then with the crows wrapped in a newspaper ...

This is quite an odd application of logic.

Slavery has its own word, but it doesn't mean that it is still practised in the US. Neither does the existence of a word in language imply that what it describes must still exist, or is inevitably going to continue to exist in perpetuity.

The OP links to a Pravda report that is more than 10 years old. This is pretty desperate stuff.

It's illustrative that while Russia's military hazing situation is better in some respects, it has deteriorated in others.

For those who aren’t aware, Pravda.ru is a tabloid and not even as reliable as infowars.

It's more than 10 years old.

The situation is different now as the army is increasingly professionalised.

I have communicated with Russian military conscripts (both ethnic Russian and minority ethnicities) within the past 6 years.

I stand by my descriptions in Post #16.
