"Russian" army plagued with sex slavery and male prostitution

I have communicated with Russian military conscripts (both ethnic Russian and minority ethnicities) within the past 6 years.

I stand by my descriptions in Post #16.

I stand by my comments which are, I'm sure, based on rather more informed sources.

BBC & the Soldiers' Mothers,: "Russian" soldiers 'used for sex'

The Russian military is reported to be investigating claims that army conscripts were forced to work as male prostitutes in St Petersburg.

The command of the interior ministry unit denied the claims made by the Soldiers' Mothers human rights group.

The group says it was contacted by a parent of a conscript who had been forced to work as a male prostitute.

Last year, an 18-year-old soldier was so badly beaten that he had to have his legs and genitals amputated.

The BBC's James Rodgers in Moscow says the latest claims follow a series of scandals which have damaged the Russian army's reputation.

A spokeswoman for the Soldiers' Mothers, Ella Polyakova, told the BBC that in St Petersburg there was "a network of clients" who would pay for sex with soldiers.

Older servicemen are said to have forced younger conscripts into prostitution and then taken the money for themselves.

Brutality

The Sychev bullying case drew worldwide attention to Russian army abuses.

Private Andrei Sychev was forced to squat for several hours by fellow soldiers and then tied to a chair and brutally beaten up last year.

As a result he developed gangrene in his legs and genitals, which had to be amputated.

Now permanently disabled, Pte Sychev has just announced that he is to write a book about his ordeal.

Such cases have highlighted the appalling conditions suffered by some Russian service personnel at a time when Russia is seeking a greater role on the world stage, our correspondent says.

Support Grows for Russian Cadets Over Bawdy Viral Dance Video

russia_3_0.jpg

The link below contains a dozen of the many videos made across Russia to celebrate the sometimes straight up video done by civil aviation cadets at their government college. The immediate reaction of authorities was rage and severe punishment for the cadets. However, the uprising across Russia of like videos by ordinary Russians got the boys nothing more than a lecture and on to morning classes as usual.

While its not the ***** Riot video many would like it does demonstrate the long and the short of the boys dancing in their briefs. All the same nothing is exposed by the video except how so many Russians seized the day to give Putin their finger he deserves from his people.

Warning: Some people may be offended by the dance video made by Russian students aged 17 and 18. It may perhaps be inappropriate for some minors to view.

Russians dance in solidarity after cadets’ video sparks scandal

en

Jaws dropped all across Russia after a video emerged on January 16 of young men wearing nothing but skin-tight boxers, pilots’ caps, ties and belts – thrusting their pelvises to the tune of “Satisfaction”.

The decidedly homoerotic video was made by a group of students at a civil aviation college. Russian authorities, who are known to be intolerant of the LGBT community, were outraged… but they were quickly countered by a flood of booty-shaking support videos made by people all over Russia.

The music video was never supposed to go public, but someone posted it on VKontakte, the main Russian video platform, where it quickly garnered 5 million views. Shortly thereafter, it was also uploaded to YouTube.

The two-minute long video shows 14 students from the Civil Aviation Institute in Ulyanovsk (UIGA) shaking their booties and lip syncing to the tune of "Satisfaction" by Italian DJ Benny Benassi, a house anthem from the early 2000s (which was known for its own erotic music video). One student eats a banana, another sprays a window with cleaning spray, while yet another uses a drill – all pretty suggestive actions, in this context. To what degree the video was a joke is still unknown, but it certainly sparked reactions all across Russia.

Officials weren’t happy. The minister of aerial transportation said that a commission would be established to investigate the circumstances around and the causes of “this outrageous incident”. The federal aviation agency decried the video as an “immoral episode”, while television channels financed by the Kremlin called the video “reprehensible” and “crude”.

Grandmothers, nurses and professional athletes make their own videos

However, the authorities likely did not anticipate the wave of support for this video. After its publication, people all over Russia made dozens of similar videos. As highlighted by US magazine The New Yorker, support for these students came from all across Russian society: from students and retirees, artists and athletes, everyday people and celebrities, and both men and women.

It was a clear rebuke of the Russian government, which has been targeting the gay community. These videos run against the Kremlin’s official line: that Russians are very attached to their traditional, conservative Christian values.

The students are safe and sound at the elite 80 year old pilots school in Lenin's birthplace that was founded by Stalin. Putin himself stayed silent throughout.

Places in the story that follows and that link to "this" can be connected at the link that concludes the news story that reports the students remain enrolled at the academy and secure as far as it goes. The storm seems to have blown over.

Some officials had said the students would be looked at on an individual basis until someone pointed out all of 'em were doing the same thingy :lamo There wuz only one who was munching on a banana but he's okay too. :peace

Air cadets in Russia have escaped expulsion for an "immoral" dance video after other social media users copied them.

Russian officials and fellow students have come to the defense of flight school cadets whose controversial half-naked viral dance video is threatening their careers.

Half-naked male cadets from Ulyanovsk Civil Aviation Institute dance to the music (Screengrab/Ulyanovsk Aviation Institute)

First to show solidarity were students at the nearby Ryazan Agricultural College. Then students at the Urals Firefighting Academy joined in. Then students at a construction college, and military cadets.

A “group of mothers” also responded. Before long, the challenge was reaching the highest of aesthetic forms and production values. There was a video from a group of young equestrians.

Then this from students of a performing arts academy. Arguably the most creative version was this, shot in a swimming pool. The weirdest version, without doubt, was this masterpiece shot by pensioners in a St Petersburg communal apartment.

Traditional Russia was, for a moment, silenced. Then came a backtracking of the official position. State prosecutors made a statement to say there was nothing illegal in what the students did.

State television softened its rhetoric and, live on air, asked Rector Krasnov to soften his. The once moralistic elder relented. There would probably be no expulsions, he conceded, “though each case would be dealt with on an individual basis”. (It was unclear how each student's behaviour differed, of course: all were wearing pretty much the same underwear and/or kinky accessories.)

“You have to remember they were all looking for a signal from above and were trying to guess what Putin would think,” says Marinna Murayeva, a sociologist at the Higher School of Economics. “And they found out that, in reality, few Russians were bothered.”

Head of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) Vladimir Zhirinovsky demanded an immediate end to the “persecution of these young people,” the state-run RIA Novosti news agency cited him as saying. “The guys were [just] dancing, they’re 17-18, they’re young. Their costumes are fine too: it’s hot over there, the heating is fierce, 25 degrees Celsius. Why should they sweat?"

The video includes discussion and data of the anti-gay laws in Putin's Russia and the increase in violent crime against gay Russians in their communities across Russia. It notes that some poll found 83% of Russians reject a gay lifestyle for any Russians.

The fact the student pilots at the prestigious academy survived the Conservative backlash is likely to be encouraging in these respects. As we can see in the thread and elsewhere however the Russian armed forces seem to be more like a prison than a military environment.

It's not quite the Russian Army Way but it has grabbed a lot of attention in China. I suppose we could say it's a new kind of buddy system in the PLA.

Chinese Cadets Play Kissing Cards Game in Class, Stirs Controversy
,

A Chinese video showing military cadets playing a kissing card game is causing a stir across social media.

A popular LGBT blogger uploaded the video to Chinese social media.

In it, cadets pass a card from one person to another by holding the card on their mouth and kissing each other.

Chinese military cadets are generally shown in state-regulated videos, training under strict discipline.

Chinese cadets show their bottle: Military recruits ordered to march around with half-filled drink containers on their heads

Water a way to learn.

No comic relief: Although it may look humourous, military chiefs say there is no better way to ensure students parade and stand to attention properly without fidgeting.

The military training class is a mandatory lesson taken by first-year university students across China. The idea of using partially filled bottles were introduced after complaints that students were slouching and not alert enough.

Trainer Lok Liao said: 'They are not allowed to use their hands and anybody that drops the bottle gets punished. The institute located in Zhengzhou city in central China's Henan Province said it wanted to emphasise to students the importance of bodily discipline and poise

'Once they have cleaned the toilets a few times or been forced to go on extra long hikes in the rain they soon learn to pay more attention to not dropping the water bottle.'The institute l said it wanted to emphasise to students the importance of bodily discipline and poise during military training classes. Lok said: 'The class is not just about teaching them basic survival skills and weapons training, it is also about training physical and mental disciplines.'

Let's hope CCP and PLA cadre don't take any ideas about discipline from their pals in the Russian Army. Y'know, start small with discipline then go in big like they have in Russia. It's amazing what we can stumble across on the www.

Thanks for the heads up as I don't know the guy from Adam yet I thought his statements quoted in Russian media were rather strident and bold. So I see his statements were tongue in cheek or whatever.

It must be a strange relationship with Putin if the guy is in Putin''s back pocket politically as you say he is, and I haven't any reason in this to doubt your knowledge of Russian politics and personalities.

Putin himself has a reputation for sometimes being irrepressibly weird....

Putin kisses a boy on stomach

th

Nikita Konkin the boy Putin kissed at age 15, ten years after.

Similar to reports of Trump's peeparty in a Moscow hotel reports have been around for years Russian kompromat services have video of Putin and underage boys in a notorious hotel and room etc.

And so on.

as our western media would say : a Putlersit, old KGB informant Vladimir Zhirinovsky is a pederast and gay - predator, here we go:

"... A journalist with RFE/RL says he was groped and accosted more than a decade ago by Russian lawmaker and perennial presidential candidate Vladimir Zhirinovsky, an allegation that could add fuel to scattered calls among Russians for a serious examination of abuse allegations against lawmakers and other officials.

Renat Davletgildeyev's accusation comes after a parliamentary ethics commission exonerated another senior Russian Duma deputy within Zhirinovsky's Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) of sexual-harassment allegations from at least three journalists.

In a Facebook post and a later interview with Current Time TV on March 22, Davletgildeyev described the alleged incident in 2006 involving the ultranationalist firebrand, saying Zhirinovsky "pawed at my [buttocks] so much that my hands were trembling as they held the recorder."...."As he was giving me a comment, he began to behave in an indecent way, touching my hands, shoulders, and my neck -- sorry, not neck, I'll give him that," he told Current Time. "He also touched my lower body parts, and then he left," he said, before adding that Zhirinovsky had touched his buttocks.

After, he said, men who he presumed were Zhirinovsky’s aides or security guards approached him and tried to persuade him to go to a sauna belonging to Zhirinovsky’s LDPR party."

Interesting contrast.

Because in the CCP-PRC the laws on gay activity and behavior are silent. This is true in the society at large and in the PLA, PLA Navy and the PLA Air Force. The Party's military has gay soldiers, sailors, airmen as routine. There's no law, rule or reg against it in either the society or in the military, to include of course cadets and also college students in training.

That is, there are few if any laws in contemporary China that say you can be or do, or that you can't be or do. There's no law that says a gay Chinese can't join the PLA or any of the armed forces. There's the legal age of consent which is 14 for everyone and that's pretty much it. Everyone. Yes, I said fourteen. It's an old culture where elders rule or dominate.

The only rule in the military forces is not to proselytize. In other words, don't approach military personnel who are not gay or who reject any approach that would be same sexual in nature. Once someone in the military who might be approached says no, leave it at that. Don't repeat and don't keep trying in general. Things in China are kept off the public record but a foreign devil who's in China long enough and in any city of appreciable size -- which is a whole lot of 'em -- will find himself discovering these realities in course.

A group of men from the office for example can head over to one of many four-storey ritzy night clubs to rent a pricey and high end furnished room that accommodates 30 or more people. There's quality food, the finest foreign liquor, karoeke and whatever delicacies and delights the group has in mind. You can order in a lineup of petite jeune filles or young men ranging from the effeminate to the butch. Or more than one lineup of whichever. You can order up petite jeune hooters if you like. Dim the lights while the karoeke carries on. There's no law against it -- or for it -- so police can't demand bribes or busts (arrest of course ha). You pay for the room and the feed, not any additional guests; everyone remains in the room. And you know already the high expense which is generally shared by the paying guests. Nobody gets into a bother in the legal sense.

In Mainland China, the age of consent for sexual activity is 14 years, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.[14] Chinese law defines statutory rape as having sex with a girl who is less than fourteen years of age. A five-year prison sentence and fine may result if the girl under 14 years of age was acting as a prostitute.[15] On August 2015, the law concerning underage prostitutes was repealed. The Statutory rape law now applies to underage prostitution as well.[16]

In Hong Kong the age of consent for sexual activity is 16 regardless of gender or sexual orientation.[18] However, the age of consent for a female receiving anal sex is 21.[19]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_Asia#Mainland_China

We know that in the CCP-PRC virtually nothing considered negative is publicized. Yet videos do get made by people and uploaded domestically and using a vpn internationally. Still however there's nothing about abuse in the PLA forces land, sea, air, that people are aware of, to include families of military personnel and veterans themselves. Indeed not only is the video in scrolling of the PLA academy cadets playing the card kiss game real, it's as real as it gets in China. Life in the China military to include cadets especially may get more playful and real on the internet yet however. That''s what I'd figure anyway.

Some people are hot under the collar about the cadet pilots in Russia, their popular video sensation and the fact the elite academy had to let the cadets off without a hard time. This guy seems to make himself clear he wanted a stiff punishment of 'em. This guy's flaccid rant went for naught however. It's a brief clip in Russian but nobody really needs any translation. The guy next to him in the shop seems somewhat amused by it all. We might do well to have the same kind of reaction, I'm sure.
