Okay, this is all about a guy named Andriy Derkach.
Who is he? Remember when Giuliani, on behalf of Trump, went to the Ukraine to dig up dirt on Biden & Hunter, and feed the false narrative that it was Ukraine trying to help Clinton, this was supposedly the real story, plus the stuff about Biden. Moreover....
Giuliani has been appearing on the 'Common Sense" show a lot, flouting documents and all sorts of sordid stuff about Biden's alleged corruption, and it all looks pretty damning for Biden. Giuliani really thought he had the goods on Biden, and he was feeding the alleged damning info to republicans in the house and senate, appearing on segments on the pro-Trump OAN TV network with Derkach.
Except for one minor detail, he's been fed all this info from a Russian agent, we're talkin' disinformation. FAKE NEWS.
That Russian agent is Andrii Derkach. Well, The Treasury Dept. has sanctioned him.

Treasury designated Andrii Derkach (Derkach) pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13848 for his efforts to influence the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Derkach, a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, has been an active Russian agent for over a decade, maintaining close connections with the Russian Intelligence Services. Derkach has directly or indirectly engaged in, sponsored, concealed, or otherwise been complicit in foreign interference in an attempt to undermine the upcoming 2020 U.S. presidential election. Today’s designation of Derkach is focused on exposing Russian malign influence campaigns and protecting our upcoming elections from foreign interference.

For example, pro-Russia Ukrainian parliamentarian Andriy Derkach is spreading claims about corruption – including through publicizing leaked phone calls – to undermine former Vice President Biden’s candidacy and the Democratic Party. Some Kremlin-linked actors are also seeking to boost President Trump’s candidacy on social media and Russian television.
By the way, the EO (https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2018-09-14/pdf/2018-20203.pdf) doesn't specifically name Derkach, it's just sets the protocols and guidelines for sanctions against actors who interfere in our elections. Naturally, it was drafted by others and sent to Trump for his signature. I commend Trump for signing it, though. However, I sincerely doubt Trump understood that it would lead to Giuliani and Trump, himself, with serious egg on their faces with all this false narrative ( Derkach disinformation ) spread against Biden.
