I will tell you all now russia will not send it's military to venezuala to back them up, they will instead fund and arm the dictator if it ends up with war. In syria russia was in close distance and it held military strategic importance to them, but venezuala is more economic and foreign policy than direct strategic.

<y fear is russia china cuba and turkey will turn venezuala into the next vietnam, funding and arming resistance to draw out a bloody war and demoralize the us military if it invades. Let us hope the us does not invade and that the eastern nations do not turn it into the next vietnam war.
