its clear that Putler behavior has not changed a smallest bit since his meddling in the USA last election, why Trump (having huge n1 economy behind) can not stop putler´s Nigeria in snow?

"Russia used every major social media platform to influence the 2016 US election, a report claims.

New research says YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram and PayPal - as well as Facebook and Twitter - were leveraged to spread propaganda.

The report, released today by the US Senate, exposes the scale of Russian disinformation efforts.

Its authors criticise the "belated and uncoordinated response" by tech firms.

The report was put together by University of Oxford's Computational Propaganda Project and the social network analysis firm Graphika.

It is the first analysis of millions of social media posts provided by Twitter, Google and Facebook to the Senate Intelligence Committee."

This report shows how Trump was supported by the Russians.

A report prepared for the Senate that provides the most sweeping analysis yet of Russia’s disinformation campaign around the 2016 election found the operation used every major social media platform to deliver words, images and videos tailored to voters’ interests to help elect President Trump — and worked even harder to support him while in office.

The report, a draft of which was obtained by The Washington Post, is the first to study the millions of posts provided by major technology firms to the Senate Intelligence Committee, led by Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), its chairman, and Sen. Mark Warner (Va.), its ranking Democrat. The bipartisan panel hasn’t said whether it endorses the findings. It plans to release it publicly along with another study later this week.

The research — by Oxford University’s Computational Propaganda Project and Graphika, a network analysis firm — offers new details of how Russians working at the Internet Research Agency, which U.S. officials have charged with criminal offenses for interfering in the 2016 campaign, sliced Americans into key interest groups for targeted messaging. These efforts shifted over time, peaking at key political moments, such as presidential debates or party conventions, the report found.

The data sets used by the researchers were provided by Facebook, Twitter and Google and covered several years up to mid-2017, when the social media companies cracked down on the known Russian accounts. The report, which also analyzed data separately provided to House Intelligence Committee members, contains no information on more recent political moments, such as November’s midterm elections.

“What is clear is that all of the messaging clearly sought to benefit the Republican Party — and specifically Donald Trump,” the report says. “Trump is mentioned most in campaigns targeting conservatives and right-wing voters, where the messaging encouraged these groups to support his campaign. The main groups that could challenge Trump were then provided messaging that sought to confuse, distract and ultimately discourage members from voting.”

You should review the monies spent by Russians as regards this "yuge" propaganda effort being pushed by the NeoCon narrative builders and propagators through the MSM. It is estimated that Democrats and Republicans each spent about $1 billion or more on their campaigns. The highest dollar figures I have read on this alleged Russian Media is $150,000 and that number has been declining since this narrative began. It's not the size of a turd in a punchbowl, or even an Olympic swimming pool, but the monies spent by Russia would compare proportionally to a turd in Lake Erie. Try getting a bit more balanced perspective on all things Russian. I heard you were responsible for the Olympic pool event.

Wow.

So instead of concentrating, putting so much effort into following and trying to entrap innocent Americans down the dead end of Team Trump, why didn't the posse that couldn't shoot straight put more assets on stopping Russia?

The Brain[less] Trust of Comey, Clapper, Brennan and the 14 other intelligence agencies out there, ostensibly to protect us from outside forces, just let it all happen? Are they that dumb, that lazy, that corrupt, what?

Totally agree, this is much ado about nothing much.

Facebook says what, $100K in Russian placed ads, Google says $4700 on its platform... they, the media and the Dims, have ginned this up so they can claim the fat lady lost due to Russian meddling... willing to possibly force us into a war just over their butt hurt feelings apparently.

I don't think it's the Dems. It's those profitting handsomely from the MIC to include all the Intelligence Agencies, Industries, Banks, etc. "Money talks and bullcrap walks," and it's the same old story. They're fabricating an enemy to further selfish commercial interesta and it's also known as Corporatism.

What's strange about all this social media stuff regarding Russia is that it actually didn't really influence the election. You're literally saying that ads that the majority of people didn't even see, the weirdest ads regarding politics, swayed people to vote for Trump. If that's true, we have a lot more to worry about than Russia.
