so why are we (USA) buying into Paris if India and China are still burning tons of coal?
China gets an exemption for a "developing country?" LMAO @USA dummies & Paris in general <--comment

Sergey Mochalnikov, the head of the Russian Energy Ministry, announced the deal on Friday. The new deal will add to an already lucrative deal Russia signed with India in Nov. 2021 to supply 40 million tons of coal.

"Now, an intergovernmental agreement with the People’s Republic of China is being developed and the figure is 100 million tons," he said. "In the coming years, consumers should receive as much coal as they need."

"[China] would start buying a lot more energy from Russia," Wilkie explained. "If we went to move on the SWIFT loan system that gives Russia access to western capital, China would pick up the slack with that."

We're also the largest seller of LNG to Europe. Liberals are full of shit.

All their Green Energy projects create environmental mining disasters.

China will never stop burning coal <-- you can bookmark that.

Good on Russia and China

Great times for Statesman Mr Vlad.
Add on record sales for Gas and Oil and Russia is rolling in money and contrasts with the US Banana state that is flat broke and in debt to 200--300 trillion .
A technical US condition called Bankruptcy .

They wouldn’t be able to do it right away because the infrastructure doesn’t exist Yet.

Your posts indicate that Russia is still betting its economic future on continued demand for fossil fuels.

And yet, RussIan and Ukrainian brinksmanship over gas supplies have helped accelerate a drive toward renewables across the Western world.

The crisis that Putin manufactured now, will encourage the EU and the US to double down. China has no intention of being left behind in that race.

This self defeating crisis will serve to add yet another reason for the West ato abandon dependence on untrustworthy suppliers of fossil fuels.

Two commie nations helping each other other, what a surprise.
The bigger surprise was Joe Biden helping Russia with the Nord II pipeline and hurting the US energy needs by killing our pipeline and stopping drilling on government owned properties.

other people make 'bad decisions' but we pay the penalties by not exporting coal as LNG prices rise
the ridiculous Paris Accord that Biden bought back into :
Countries like China got a free pass to pollute for over a decade. With abundant low-cost coal, China and India would put our manufacturers at a huge competitive disadvantage. Economic costs would be severe.

According to the National Economic Research Associates, if we met all of our commitments as part of the Paris climate agreement, it would cost the American economy $3 trillion and 6.5 million industrial sector jobs by 2040. We don’t need to cripple our economy to protect our environment.

America’s emissions actually continue to decline, and we are the world’s driver of innovative solutions. Since 2005, the United States has reduced its combustion-related carbon dioxide emissions more than any other nation in the world. Global emissions have moved in the opposite direction.

Germany killed it's nuke program to move to renewables which were utterly insufficient and unreliable-
nothing to do with Ukraine. It had to rely on freaking wood pellets for heat.
Now with Nordstream2 (eventually ) opening it will get it's reliable LNG supplies from Russia

If it had just stuck with nuclear it wouldnt be so unreliable and be more independent on Russia

Well, it looks like Russia and China listen to me. I say, use it up and they go ahead.

Note it says in the coming years, meaning we better come up with an alternative.

I'm seriously thinking of moving to Russia to share in that bounty. What could go wrong?

Germany likes having a Russian leash around it's neck.

Sorry, but I don't buy into this doomsday thinking.

NERA uses a ridiculous model that straight up assumes no innovation occurs whatsoever. Laughable.

America’s emissions actually continue to decline, and we are the world’s driver of innovative solutions. Since 2005, the United States has reduced its combustion-related carbon dioxide emissions more than any other nation in the world. Global emissions have moved in the opposite direction.
Further proof that our economy does not get devastated by reducing emissions.

The history of the last twenty years, as well as the current crisis, make reliable natural gas supplies from Russia an oxymoron.

Russia has never been a reliable trade partner.

I think we are , but green has to phase in with market value. im not sure we are doing that
and Paris gives a vastly unfair advantage to China

Other people make sensible decisions that benifit them.

Liberals make bizarre abstract decisions based on their dogma's and feelings at the moment

Russia WANTS global warming. They'd be crazy not to.

While there are some benefits in terms of new shipping lanes in the Arctic, there's the problem of methane being released due to the melting permafrost; the latter has also caused a lot of problems for anything built on top of permafrost.

A persistent rumour has been that Vlad recruited Mutte when he was in Dresden as a KGB officer and she was a young firebrand east German politician obviously determined 'to go places '.
And the saintly Angela was almost solely responsible for bulldozing Germany into joining the Nord Stream 2 project .
The decision to totally drop out of 'nuclear' was catastrophic but now allows some great dot connections .

Of course Gullibles will imagine that is all part of some loony conspiracy web .

First of all, green is now the low cost producer in many developed market.

It is the only category of energy sources that is growing, not shrinking.

It is also the one with global economic support.

I’m not sure why the world is at a disadvantage to China in this respect for two reason.

China can’t meet its energy needs with fossil fuels now.

And China is the world leader in investment in renewables.

Russia is betting on a strategy that assumes that its oil reseves will be key to its future, in a world were reducing dependence on fossil fuels is a new universal goal.
