With the way things are going in the west - it does looks like it.

It's so surprising coming from a country like Russia, though. I wonder if the Orthodox Christian religion had any influence in this?

Perhaps the Orthodox faith, plays an important role in this matter. In addition, historically, Russia has great morals. And probably in Russia perverse sex - a great sin.
 
Russia violates human freedoms. but then again Russia hasn't been very big on humanity lately. I criticize them as well.

You should also look on Poland. It´s very hard to be gay there.
So most of their gay people go to Warschau or to Western Europe.

Don´t speak, don´t tell is no reason.
