Long, long, long before The Tea Party... Rush Limbaugh set the stage. He, like many knew what Hope & Change meant... and he was on the money... in every way. There's no denying it.

Try as they may, Obama and his Journolists tried to isolate and destroy Rush with Alinsky's Rule #12. It is now the epic fail and should be the feature on fail.org

Thanks Rush & Thanks to a sober electorate. It's merely the beginning.

"I hope he fails."

With those famous four words, uttered January 16, 2009 -- only days before Barack Obama was to be inaugurated -- Rush Limbaugh drew a line in the sand.

Unlike a number of conservatives and Republican leaders, Limbaugh understood from the moment of Obama's election what the new president and his allies represented...

Characteristically, Limbaugh was fearless in saying so -- plainly. Asked to submit a 400-word essay for the Wall Street Journal on his hopes for the new administration, he responded on the air:

Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the U.S. government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things… See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, "Oh, you can't do that." Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it?

So I can answer it, four words, "I hope he fails." And that would be the most outrageous thing anybody in this climate could say. Shows you just how far gone we are. Well, I know, I know. I am the last man standing.

...Borrowing a tactic from Rules for Radicals, the handbook written by Obama's hero the late Chicago radical community activist Saul Alinsky, Obama the one-time community activist become president lectured the astonished GOP leadership, saying pointedly "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." The Republicans were barely out the door before the story leaked, causing a media feeding frenzy as the White House knew it would.

With that, the stage for the entire next two-years was set.

Damn and you accuse liberals of having a Messiah.

Rush isn't a Messiah, he is the premier voice of Conservatism nationwide. It's why Obama tried to Alinsky #12 him. They tried to take him down with their Journolist allies, and failed. Remember they tied to paint him as the Republican Leader? Of course not.

Once it became obvious Rush was right, the Tea Party emerged. Make no mistake, Rush brought focus to Obama and opened a nationwide discussion about wanting Obama's socialist policies to fail.

Make no mistake, Rush played a huge role in this victory.

Haymerket,

OK, he got hooked on addictive drugs from a back problem, but he isn't a KKK member, didn't drive off a bridge and abandon the passenger as two of the most historic Dems have done.

I find it hilarious how Alinsky is so much better know by the right than the left, but the right always claim the left is using him.

Obama uses him, Obama used to teach classes on him, who do the liberals rally around? Obama.

The left who have power are using Alinsky. No one is saying all the sheep are.

If he was "the premier voice of Conservatism nationwide.", then wouldn't that in fact be him leading the Republicans?

Otherwise, who is he playing Press Secretary to?

Perhaps should Rush should make a serious run as a third party candidate for President in 2012. He could do it in between his periodic pleasure "visits" to Costa Rica.

Why is it strange that the left is largely ignorant?

Barack Obama's training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.

I am proud to see that my father's model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.

He's not an elected official, but a voice in the free market. He does have an impact, a huge one, as we saw this past week.

His impact became even greater thanks to Obama and his crew elevating him, constantly talking about him, and trying to bring him down using Ainsky's Rule #12. That bomb done blewed up in their faces. He's still standing... Obama and his Trons are licking their very deep wounds and trying to find their body politic parts scattered about the nation.

Why is it that there is a gross misuse of the word IGNORANT in these discussions? The actual meaning of the term is one who lacks knowledge and who has not been informed about a topic or issue. But far too often it is used as a club here to simply attack somebody who agrees with a position opposite of theirs.

Is it so difficult to comprehend that someone can read your position, can understand your position, has thought about your position and then utterly and completely rejects your position? That does not make them IGNORANT. It simply makes them disagree with you. The conceit here is that those who use the word somehow infer that if that stupid cretin only knew what they knew then there would be no disagreement. And that conceit should not be tolerated.

Such a shame that we suffer all the fallout from Democrats and Republicans fighting for power. No matter if Rush or Obama come out on top, we come out on the bottom.

That didn't address my point at all.

Precisely the meaning behind my usage. It is why Democrats seek the youth vote. It is why Obama was elected. The voters were left ignorant about who he really is. The Journolists did not inform but propagandized, leaving the electorate ignorant. What was "Hope" precisely? What was "Change"? Who is the man that sat before Rev. Wright? Worked with Ayers? Is Alinsky trained. As Redress noted... those on the left really don't know about Alinsky and his methods... showing what?... Ignorance.

Ignorance got Obama to where he is. Willful malpractice by people that call themselves journalists... leaving the electorate ignorant. Now that they know who these radicals are and what Hope and Change mean... they're rejected in a historic manner.

We don't need no stinkin' third party.
That would be dem's dream.

It's not about Limbaugh or any of the other right wingers. It's about susceptible, gullible people desperately seeking simple answers to complex issues.

As a fiscal conservative, I take offense at Rush being referred to as my voice.

Talk about gullible, what about the ones who fell for The One and voted for him in '08.
Many of us knew what he was all about, but others just liked the sound of hope and change.
Some are probably wishing they had listened to Rush, Hannity and others who were trying to warn them.

And what is your point then?

.

Either by your description he is the leader or the mouthpiece for the leader of the GOP. Which is it?

Alinsky types are always looking for a leader to target. It drives them crazy that no one will say "yea, he's the leader of the rep. party" or "yea, she's the leader of the Tea Party."
They don't need or want leaders but rules for radicals calls for a target, so liberals just keep asking.
