It's going to eventually get to the point that all big city areas are blue and all rural areas are red. This benefits Republicans because the left already own the blue areas so the right can't lose much there. While there aren't a lot of blue politicians in rural areas the ones who are there either need to change or they will be voted out with their seats going to the red team.

83% of the US population lives in cities and urban areas, and that percentage is growing.

Anywho, the Democratic Party has a big tent, they don't need people to kowtow to any single individual or position.

That's exactly the opposite of what's happening here. With so much in the way of:
1) successful remote working results
2) much lower property prices
3) difficulty social distancing in urban areas, (more freedom and safety from CV)
loads of Dems are moving OUT to the rural areas. Esp. high tech workers.

And I'm a rural Dem and no way moving to town.

The OP's suggestion has not happened, is not happening, and will not happen.
