• This is a political forum that is non-biased/non-partisan and treats every person's position on topics equally. This debate forum is not aligned to any political party. In today's politics, many ideas are split between and even within all the political parties. Often we find ourselves agreeing on one platform but some topics break our mold. We are here to discuss them in a civil political debate. If this is your first visit to our political forums, be sure to check out the RULES. All,

The mod team has been listening to feedback from our community. Behind the scenes we have been diligently working for several weeks on the wording and the identification of things we view as unacceptable in a civil forum. However,we still want free flow of ideas and discussion from all positions. As a result, we have made some significant changes to our rules.

Changes:
1) Hate speech has been redefined to be more clear to meaning while still allowing discussion of sensitive topics.
2) Porn rule has been rewritten to reflect graphic content and now allow for content that is pertinent to the discussion with a disclaimer of NSFW.
3) Offensive/Disrespective posts has been removed and a new 'Slurs' rule added. We believe that offensive name calling has no place in a civil forum.

These are major changes and could result in a reduction of accumulated points. However, we will not be retroactively revisiting infractions.

We thank you for the individual feedback via PM & feedback forum.

Thank you for being a part of the best civil political forum on the internet!!

Re: Rules have been updated 6-28-13

Two additional minor rules have been updated:

1) In the ME Forum, ML violations will no longer be permanent. As of now, they will expire after one year.
2) In the Religion Forum, threads/posts critical of atheism will earn the same consequences as threads/posts critical of religion.

The green link at the top for 'Forum rules' should now reflect the latest changes.

Thanks to Jerry for helping us find this error.

Re: Rules have been updated 6-28-13

Transgendered group disclaimer moved from sexuality -> gender.

Again, thanks for all the feedback.
