Well you guess wrong. Apparently you are unaware that we Canucks have democratically elected government as well.
Its just that we haven't turned it into a blood-sport. That and the existence of more than 2 realistic choices...
Oh and of course, our laws protect us from the outright purchasing of our government.
You should learn about it. Its civil and doesn't promote the confrontational nonsense the great Yankee mess does.
Marvie. I'm sure they miss your vote. Yet that great party you proudly joined in 1980, has been playing you for a fool all these years. But don't get too upset. Its most Americans who've been lead by the nose all this time, right along with you. In a 2-party political system, especially one that's bought and paid for like yours is, the 2 parties rule the nation in cahoots. They play the public against each other, while they screw y'all behind closed doors. You're all so gawd-damn busy fighting each other, that you don't even realize they are all in bed with each other.
Yes...use your heads...as paper weights.
In the meantime, they'll continue to push and pull y'all in nonsensical directions, while you...use your heads.
You're Canadian. You can't possibly know what it's like to be an American voter. That's what I said, very clearly, and you didn't understand it. The democratically elected Canadian government has nothing to do with you not being an American voter.
Please read and comprehend posts if you want to quote me. I'm patient, but I don't like wasting my time posting the same thing twice because the reader is slow on the uptick.
Well how very arrogant and presumptuous of you.
No I understood you perfectly. I can know what its like to have to choose between dumb and dumber. There's nothing magical or "American" about that. And as an outsider watching this embarrassment unfold, I see what's happening with a clarity that perhaps you, as a staunch yet disappointed Republican, might just not be able to see. N'est pas?
You're patient? Then show some patience with your own people. They're ****ed right up, and if there's any sanity left in US politics, it needs to surface now. That would be an act of real patriotism, courage and intellect. Instead of calling whole populations indecent, and accomplishing nothing more than rubbing salt in the festering wound that is US politics today.
Thank you for your personal attack. Very not worth my while reading your drivel.
I might very well still vote for my party's candidate, because if something does come from the allegations, he can always be removed later.
Much preferable to giving up a political advantage simply on the basis of accusations.
Another opportunity to use one of my favorite Monty Python segments
So you're blaming the media, if Alabaman's elect an accused child molester to the Senate?
Maybe they should take responsibility for their actions, rather than blaming a bogeyman. They're the ones pulling the handle!
This race to fill Sessions' old seat sure has been full of twists and turns.
Oh there are plenty of boogieman involved in this election and when it is all said and done they will be found out.
Don't let your heart be troubled, Moore is not going to win. McConnell has made sure of that. After McConnell and his Senate super pac couldn't defeat Moore in the primary spending over 30 million, and even after the 11th hour 40 year old sex allegations, which I have suspicions the Republican establishment were behind, didn't totally defeat Moore as he was still showing a real possibility of beating Jones. But now, McConnell has found a write-in as another option for Republican voters just 12 days before the election. This time McConnell will have finally defeated Moore from filling Sessions' seat by assuring the Democratic candidate Jones wins.
Has nothing to do with the media. It has everything to do with hyper-partisanship. Both parties have people that either should resign or, in Moore's case, drop out of the race. Both sides aren't doing what's right because they don't want to give an inch to "the other team". They are both busy trying to see how much they can virtue signal that they care about sexual harassment while doing nothing to hold themselves accountable. It's some kind of perverse game of chicken.
Again more rabid right silliness. The 'media' isn't letting Trump get away with anything. For all the rabid right screams witch hunt and fake news the rest of us know a lying sob when he speaks, the independent media just reminds everyone of them, the people decide.
But given your past posts I can see how you think that...eace
The New York Post wagging it's metaphorical finger at that awful media - I love it! Next please tell us how Harvey Weinstein is wagging his finger at satan for being naughty. :rofl
Yes, I'm using my head. If you were an American voter, you could try it sometime and see how it works. But you aren't an American voter, so you'll never know, I guess.
I've always voted Republican. Except for Donald Trump. And I will no longer vote Republican as long as he is the "face" of the once great party I joined in 1980.
I suggest you let those of us who actually know about American politics and the Republican Party use our heads as we do.
“How have we reached a point in this country when nearly half the voters of a U.S. state so mistrust, and even revile, major media outlets that they are willing to brush aside credible evidence and elect an accused sexual predator simply out of spite? How have we reached a point where a president of the United States can just declare ‘fake’ news he doesn’t like—and largely get away with it?”
How, you ask? Consider this and this.
Also:
You betcha.
I'm sure the media would be as giddy as you if they weren't losing subscribers and viewers hand over fist.
Breaking story after story, two great American newspapers, The New York Times and The Washington Post, are resurgent, with record readerships.
:lamo
That's just bloody hilarious. I believe you and all...but that's what makes it so funny.
There's a reason the write-in, a former Marine, was paraded out yesterday. You see for about 2 weeks Moore's polling numbers had taken a real hit and Jones had taken the lead. The Republican establishment were feeling pretty safe that Moore's chances of winning had been diminished. But about 7 days ago after Moore's attorneys had shot holes all through Corfman's allegations of being sexually molested at the age of 14 just by using court records on file at the courthouse then the polls started showing Moore regaining ground. Yesterday there were two polls showing Moore with a 4-5 pt. lead. And that is why the write-in was paraded out 12 days before the election in hopes it will split the Republican vote.
If Moore happens to pull a win off, I would love to have a snapshot of McConnell's face at that moment.
Quit being flippant. The court documents Moores atty's produced were damning to Corfman's allegations. They shot her story all to Hades.
Either you didn't pay attention to the evidence or you are not who you claim to be.
No, it did not. For a single example, it did not demonstrate that the multiple people she told at the time were lying about her having done so.
We have several women telling roughly the same story without knowing each other or having an ideological ax to grind (and, in fact, being reluctant to come forward). We have the Judge's own words, which, when they aren't self-contradicting, admit to some of the described behavior. The idea that they all came up with the same story and then traveled back through time and space to get others to agree to it is beyond credibility. If you want to argue that one detail or another is off in one section, okay; but that's not the same at all as having a story shot to hades.
Having a story shot to hades is what happened to the lady from Veritas who tried to get the WaPo to run with unfounded allegations.... only to discover that WaPo actually does research and seeks multiple sources to confirm a story like this. Which is what they did. They're liberal, sure; that doesn't mean this story wasn't pretty tightly researched and solid journalism, any more than the Wall Street Journal's conservative/market bent makes it incapable of the same.
I paid plenty of attention. I simply didn't do it desperate for anything that would let me excuse believing what I wanted to believe. I've voted for Moore, and defended him to friends and family before. If anyone was going to be invested in him, it was me - but I'm not so invested in him or the GOP that I'm willing to give over my intellectual integrity to it.
Whatever CPWill, evidently the majority in Alabama don't agree with you. Last poll I looked at Moore us up 6.
Fox didn't claim Obama performed a "terrorist fist bump"?
Your memory is very fuzzy and partisan.
Yup. It's a heavy red state, and he's the GOP nom. It's unfortunate, and it's going to do real damage to the Pro-Life cause in particular and the GOP in general.
It also provides a neat little precedent. Want to abuse women? Go ahead. When and if they ever come forward, attack them, encourage your supporters to do so, and ride out the scandal, trusting to time. Hooray, the GOP is now the Democrat party of the 90s.
So. How do you think the women involved figured out how to use time travel? Did they use magic?
I know all about the South in the 70's. Most folks were poor. Alabama was pure Democrat and remained that way clear up until the 90's. It was not uncommon for women to get married in their teens 17, 18, 19 during that time. And if that gentleman had a good job he was considered a good catch for their daughter. Prior to the Civil Rights acts woman unless they came from prominent families didn't have much chance of getting an opportunity to attend college UNLESS they worked their own way through paying for tuition one semester at a time and many did as they did years before. Heck my grandmother before she had the right to vote earned her teaching certificates in Kentucky and Ohio by just taking a test. But those days are long gone.
No Moore isn't going to do damage to Pro Life causes. Moore has been pro life and supported those causes for over 40 years
Leigh Corfman's allegations have been shot down just with court documents on file at the courthouse.
The media has lost so much credibility the people figure what every they say the opposite is most likely true.
And that will be very counter productive.
How many "Trumps" need to get elected to public office before you people realize that nobody likes to be talked down to?
When you pull this morality horse-kaka, you manage to steel conservatives against you...at all costs.
For a gang of people who like to claim moral and intellectual superiority...you people ain't all that moral or intellectual...are ya...
