On Thursday's New Day on CNN, as a panel discussed the Republican National Convention, CNN political commentator Errol Louis suggested that "angry" convention crowds and their "mob chant" could put Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton "back in her sweet spot" so that she can argue that she is preferable in the White House in contrast with the "craziness" on the other side.

For her part, CNN correspondent Maeve Reston observed that the conventon so far is appealing to the "Fox News crowd" by focusing on issues like Benghazi.
CNN: GOP 'Angry Mob,' 'Craziness' Helps Clinton, Appeals to 'Fox News Crowd'

Well, these asswipes should be focusing on Benghazi as well, and all the lies and crooked deeds by Hillary....they aren't!

They are scared to death that Trump could win and like petulant children are acting out.....kinda fun to see the melt down and hand wringing.

So what? Panel discussions are nothing more than a soapbox for the panel members to editorialize on. They're not news coverage at all.

They are scared to death that Trump could win...
Any sane person should be scared of that scenario.

To be fair, the Republicans are quite mockable this election cycle. The Democrats were going to hand them the Presidency on a silver platter and look how the dealt with it.

I guess I'm glad you're not seeing the light, like other Trump supporters. It really is a campaign built on hate and anger, with a touch of violence. Such people are on the periphery and usually not elected to important offices. Who votes for a vision of hate and anger?

I think Republicans made the right choice, if we are wrong, it's no worse than the wrong headed dopes who voted for obummer! Give Trump a chance.

Bull****....it is no such thing....it's built on the Right thing to do, vs. the wrong thing to do!

Benghazi again! Never mind that 7 or 8 investigations - most of which were chaired by we-gotta-jail-Hillary House Republicans - found ZERO wrongdoing on her part, and Trey Gowdy himself said there was nothing the military could have done...

...but it's still all about how Hillary somehow allowed the ambassador (whom she personally knew IIRC) to die.

Just goes to show, if Hillary (or Obama or Bill or Pelosi or Warren) are accused of anything, anything at all, she MUST be guilty! No need for silly little things like evidence - get a rope!

They are always scared to death Republicans will win. They leave no dirty deed undone.

I don't know if you had noticed but the present news cycle is revolving around a little shindig by the lake in Cleveland, OH. Naturally then Republican's are going to get extra attention.

That's sort of the point.

If Republican's are upset or embarrassed by the kind of attention they are getting then perhaps they should check the mirror rather than point fingers and resort to evasion and derail.

Democrats get their turn to look the fool next week.

It won't exactly thrill me, but at least I'll know that it could have been way, way worse.

I think Republicans made the right choice, if we are wrong, it's no worse than the wrong headed dopes who voted for obummer! Give Trump a chance.

Oh. Hell. No.
End of story.

So you are complaining that political pundits are offering opinions, and news sources are talking about current events instead of old news?

The distractions are working, thread after thread, all we do is argue over things that mean nothing.

Perhaps if the Trump campaign had not scheduled Ted Cruz's non endorsement speech for prime time last night, we might be talking about Mike Pence's speech this morning. Many of the distractions are Trump's unforced errors.

Why are you trying to exploit the death of an American hero for political purposes?

This thread is not about me. Your time would be better spent looking into your own soul.

As I read the OP, I see this thread as one that is examining why a liberal media insists upon hiding behind a murderer's pantsuit. The death of Chris Stevens is not an example of "beating a dead horse." His story is just as alive and well and pertinent as his murderer.

I wonder why Errol Louis didn't bring up the the "angry crowds" yelling "mob chants" out on the streets of Cleveland? Some of Hillary's Army? Yes, more of the uneducated, unemployeed, unwashed, tattooed idiots screaming words they don't understand that somebody else told to scream. Errol should have covered that. Maybe he was afraid he'd get his three piece mussed?

I never heard her apologize. The Clintons are criminals......many times over.

It won't exactly thrill me, but at least I'll know that it could have been way, way worse.

End of story.

Way worse....ridiculous. He will have plenty of good advisers and has more business savvy and worldly experiences, than obama ever had!

Benghazi is a dead horse...

Naw, there are emails over Benghazi that Hillary lied about....they are still investigating....far from a dead horse.

Unbelievable how people can overlook all the Hillary lies ....and think that she is worthy of any Government job.

She couldn't even pass a background check for most Govt. jobs. But the lemmings will vote for her anyway.

Trump can't even come close to the awful behavior that Hillary has exhibited for the last 25 years!

Trump is at least as dishonest. So that argument against voting for her kinda fails. It is funny how you have different standards for different people...

Y'know, in America there's supposed to be a prohibition against double jeopardy. So far, when it comes to Hillary and Benghazi, y'all are up to OCTUPLE jeopardy.

But of course that doesn't matter to you. The GOP led-and-controlled Benghazi Committee could find ZERO wrongdoing on her part as has been the case a hundred times - just like the first eight times she's been investigated - but you won't care. You've made up your mind that she's guilty, guilty, guilty...and nobody, but nobody can tell you any different...even when it's the GOP-led-and-controlled House Benghazi Committee.

She might have slipped past a blindfolded Comey, but she'll never slip past the history books or by an enormous number of sane, deeply embittered Americans. Oh, yes. The ghosts of her murdered heroes will always, always be there.

Chris Stevens is a dead ambassador.

And everything he died for was in vain....thanks to republicans. Now he's little more than political fodder for republicans to get elected with.
