Ron DeSantis Trails Democrat Charlie Crist in New Poll After Migrant Flight

Cruelty? Many would say he did them all a huge favor with a tax payer funded trip to sanctuary cities and states. Moreover, I think you dramatically underestimate how much anger there is about the administration's handling of immigration in border states.
Reverse freedom rides. You cant fool anyone who was a civil rights activist.

Since the evil Marxist/Communist Soros is bankrolling and putting forward these complaints we cannot believe a word of what these people are saying.

The intent is to stop DeSantis. I hope he sends a thousand to Martha's Vineyard next week. This evil by Soros and his henchmen needs to stop.

Take your John Bircher act somewhere else.

I don't think you are making the connection. Large numbers of amnesty seekers at the border are Cubans. Cubans and Venezuelans are running from their countries for the same reasons. Cubans are sympathetic to the plight of the Venezuelans. If they turn against DeSantis over his treatment of Venezuelan amnesty seekers there legally he is in big trouble.
its not that simple. you dont understand the dynamics... Cubans aern't that fond withPuertoRicans-i have no idea how t hey feel about Venezuelans. but you cant just plug them in and say one group supports another

My point has nothing to do with the fact they are all Hispanic, it is the fact that both groups are asylum seekers. Puerto Ricans aren't asylum seekers.

My point is that there are large numbers of Cubans seeking asylum too. When they see DeSantis treating legitimate asylum seekers like this they can't help but wonder if he would treat Cuban asylum seekers the same. They understand why people seek asylum and are sympathetic to their plight.

this is way too much speculation.

Not speculation. I saw several Cuban community leaders interviewed and it is what they are saying. Now how widespread that is who knows but I found it interesting given the timing of this poll.

if you say so.

Being against illegal immigrants now qualifies one as a member of the John Birch Society?

When will the left stop such hyperbole? It's like the boy who cried wolf to where his shrieks now are ignored.

Italy and even Sweden now is fed up with immigration and are taking steps to curb it. Are they John Birchers too?

But I get it, Tom. I really do. The left has to demonize when they have no counter-arguments so do carry on.

I didn't. Speak for yourself
Everyone overestimated the capabiltiy of the Russian military.

That said, do you think Ukraine is winning? It's a knock down drag out brawl over there that is going to result in two effectively ruined countries, albeit in different ways. Best case for Ukraine at this point is a stalemate that just results in their country being shattered and sent back in time 20-30 years.

If there wasn't some truth to it, it would not bother you.

There are very few liberals today. The Democratic party has veered so far to the left they are now Progressives and Socialists.

If you asked Democrats in the street who said this:
Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what YOU can do for your country" they would immediately say, Donald Trump.
If you asked that same group who said "A man should be judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin", he would say "Those racists either Bush or Nixon"

DeSantis is a pretty popular governor in Florida, and he'll probably win. In spite of Trump saying so much nasty shit about him, too.

Interestingly it is being reported that some produce farmers in FL are annoyed with DeSantis because these migrants, and others in places like TX, are legally in the States awaiting asylum hearings and have temporary work permits. The farmers are desperate for labourers to work in their fields and would have employed them. As it is crops are rotting.

I still think DeSantis wins but apparently, he is ticking off lots of Floridians with his stupid political stunt. Cubans, Venezuelans, farmers and taxpayers who don't like their taxpayer dollars spent on political stunts.

DeSantis is becoming a pretty big threat to the establishment and probably much more than Trump. Remember, it's not over until each and every mail in vote is counted.

This isnt going to go over well. HAHAHA

jackass!!

A new poll out of Florida shows that the recent move by Governor Ron DeSantis to transport migrants from Texas to the Northeast could come back to haunt him in his re-election bid against Democrat Charlie Crist.

After months in the lead, DeSantis trails Crist by 6 points in a poll by The Political Matrix and The Listener Group. If accurate, it would represent a wild swing in the race. A landline poll of likely voters from The Listener Group in June of 2021 showed DeSantis with a nearly double-digit lead over all potential Democratic opponents, meaning the move to ship migrants would have resulted in an almost 16-point shift in the polls.

By comparison, the U.S. Supreme Court's decision this June to overturn the landmark abortion protections under Roe v. Wade only shifted the national generic ballot by about 4.5 points. To date, polling aggregates by FiveThirtyEight showed DeSantis with a 6-point lead over Crist with fewer than 50 days to the election.

Though the new poll is an outlier, Greg Fink—a conservative-leaning strategic consultant for The Listener Group—said he stands by the result, saying it matches a decline in DeSantis' support that began with his targeting of school boards that did not support his 2021 executive order banning masks in schools.

So how’s that one going?
