WASHINGTON (AP) — Just how rich is Mitt Romney? Add up the wealth of the last eight presidents, from Richard Nixon to Barack Obama. Then double that number. Now you're in Romney territory.
how do you think this number will effect the election?
how do you think this number will effect the election?
I think those numbers together with his tax rate and his tax plan to cut taxes for the rich even further while increasing spending on the military, positively seal his loss in the general election.
Agreed. If he's the nominee we well see the Dems air ads about his tax rate and all the layoffs that Bain Capital was responsible for.

Yes of course, its already started:
There are only two types of people who will care that Romney is rich:
1. The people who want to use it as a weapon against him...the Democrats, with their divisive war on the rich rhetoric...and the Republicans who need to use it to defeat him in the primary.
2. The people who suck down whatever the above tell them.
No one cares that Romney is rich.
What infuriates the working class (and will result in the the GOP loss in November), half of which average $15,800 annual income, is that an unemployed guy making more then 3 times in a day what they do in a year, is paying about the same tax rate, in addition to trying to shield some of his income from taxes in foreign accounts.
stop lying (of course you have to lie-that's what the dems have to do to wage class warfare)
the person who averages 15,800 in income is paying ZERO federal income taxes and probably getting a bunch back from the federal government (handouts in more common usage)
Poor turtle, in November he will learn the difference between FIT and Federal taxes paid, as the voters will have provided him a memorable lesson.

So what if they are paying the same tax rate? Is that a problem?
and I suspect no matter what happens in November, I will still be wealthy and you will still be whining about the wealthy
Yes, it is a problem because it adds to the debt. The same debt that the middle class is being asked to accept reduced benefits to help reduce. And, even more importantly it furthers the wealth gap in this country that has left a consumer class without enough income to be consumers, so our economy cannot prosper.
There is simply no reason for the working class to continue voting for more and more tax cuts for the rich. Sorry!
Our debt is not a result of not enough government revenue...it's the result of too much government spending. That government spending is the result of the benefits you don't want to reduce. The "wealth gap" has no effect on how much the "consumer class" (whatever THAT is) spends. Consumers of any income level can spend as much..or as little...as they can afford. Taxing the rich won't change that one bit.
Such utter claptrap.
Everyone works. Calling one group the "working class" is ridiculous.
BTW, did anyone ever ask you to vote for more and more tax cuts for the rich? I'm just curious...because nobody ever asked me.
