The Romney campaign is experiencing what some officials believe could be the beginning of a mass exodus of big money donors diverting their cash away from the Republican presidential hopeful and toward Republican candidates for the House and Senate races more likely to win in November, the FOX Business Network has learned.
Romney Losing Donors to GOP House, Senate Candidates | Fox Business
If even remotely true (remember this is Fox News...) then it signals the beginning of the end of Romney within the GOP. The polls might be bad but they can change, but if he starts loosing big time donors and donors in general.. that can only mean that the GOP faithful have given up on him and turned their attention towards winning as many Senate and House seats as possible. Reallly bad news for Romney.

Probably even worse news for the Democrats. Romney is a loser. That's just how it's going to be. However, if that money gets focused on the Congressional races, there's still a chance to maintain at least some level of Republican control in at least one of those bodies. If the focus remained on Romney much longer, there's a solid chance the Democrats could end up with a Majority in both Houses AND the Presidency. Then again, that might not be so good for them.... Two to four years of total control might just ensure the Democrats don't control ANYTHING for a Generation.
Yes as can be seen by the last year and a half they can really sabotage Obama with stuff like "tea party"
True. Now, if I was a Leftist, a Progressive, or a Liberal my ultimate fear would be an Obama re-election where the Democrats regain control of the House and maintain control of the Senate. Especially if the Democrats could pick up a seat or two and get to say 56-57 seats in the Senate. At that point, there would be no way for the Democrats to complain that they couldn't get their agenda through without revision or amendment by the Republicans. That might just be the worst thing to happen to the Democratic Party in 50 years. It would be bad for the Republicans and we Conservative, but it might almowt be worse for the Democrats.
I think THAT is the reason the Republican donors are focusing on the House and Senate. The Presidency is a lost cause. Their only hope now is to ensure at least one chamber of Congress remains as a barier to a Progressive agenda steamrolling through Washington D.C.
A year after Dem's took full control things got better and better, now a little over a year after tea party took over the house things are getting stale again. We don't know how this recession is going to turn out yet, but it's coming and so far doesn't look too serious. I'm willing to compromise and call it natural in the economic cycle but saying the government has no effect on the economy doesn't get us anywhere. Short term policies does take 1 to 2 years to take effect and the start changes are generally seen around a year. So if congress changes, and you want to correlate the economy to the government, then you can attribute what happens a year to two down the road to this election.
The ECONOMY is the least of my concerns with a Congress and Presidency controlled by the Democrats. Then again the economy is pretty much ALWAYS a secondary concern for me when it comes to politics.
What's your main concern?
Social and Moral Issues. Which is also a large part of why many of these donors are turning away from Romney... he has shown no ability to actually even TALK the TALK, nevermind WALKING it, when it comes to any form of Social Conservatism.
I'm assuming abortion and gay marriage are two of the issues, anything else?

bringing back the days when women were seen and not heard and couldnt hold public office appears to be the best guess based on his postsWhat's your main concern?
I think it's even worse news for the Senate and House GOP campaigns. They are slipping in the polls quickly and any effort to put more money into those races may be too little too late. Romney has been a horrible candidate for the GOP all around.

True, but I think most of the GOP voters realize that a totally Democrat controlled government could be terminal for this nation as they believe in it. I'd be hard pressed to think they won't get out and vote for their Senators/Representatives to ensure that doesn't happen.

I disagree. I think if the democrats get control of congress, the jobs bills will get passed. Jobs will be created, the economy will begin to boom. People will fall inlove with Obamacare, because they will have better access to health care. Wall Street reform will be strengthened, consumer protection laws will be strengthened, and women's reproductive rights will be protected. Once the US economy starts to boom, the global economy will improve, which will better our reputation around the world. We will move more quickly into renewable energy production, which will open up new markets. I see it all as a win for the US and the world.
I think the GOP is so split that many GOP voters will just stay home out of frustration. I have no doubt that the radical right thinks a Democrat controled government will destroy the country and they will turn out to vote. But, the moderate and the rest of the GOP probably will see this election as a wash. I don't think the moderate GOP voters like the radical direction the GOP is headed. I don't see them making the effort to get out and vote for the radical right GOP candidates. They may turn out and vote if the congressional candidates in their area distances themselves from Romney. I watched the Masachusettes debate last night. Brown was claiming to be an Independent. He is a republican. He was trying his best to keep Romney out of the debate. The problem is, these candidates struggling to win their districts have all backed Romney early on.
That all depends on if Polosi is given the Speaker of the House position. She is a bulldog and has a way of getting the Democrat agenda through. Also, the GOP start to move center so they can capture more votes in mid-term elections. THey won't want to be viewed as obstructionists. They will see that this stratagy failed them in the past.
What you miss is that the vast majority of people are not going to be HELPED by these things. Most of us who actually WORK for a living are going to see LESS in our paychecks rather than MORE in that sort of system. There is a good chance I will LOSE my healthcare if Obama is elected. Many of us don't want to see the US have a better reputation around the world. It may be a win for the US and the World, but it will not be a win for AMERICANS.
As a Massachusetts resident and a Conservative, I won't be voting for Scott Brown any more than I will for Romney. Then again, in this state it really doesn't matter because my votes are overwhelmed by the soulless masses here in the Communistwealth.
In terms of the overall, I think even the more moderate Republicans (I'm a Conservative, not a Republican) will turn out for the Congressional elections as a means to equalize the power.
Actually, I believe you'll see the GOP move further RIGHT if they are out of power. Though I believe that as they do, you'll see 2-3 Senators and 10-15 Representatives switch parties to the Democrats.
I don't see how the majority of the people can't be helped by massive job creation and a boom on the economy.?
How will you see less money on your paycheck if these things pass??
Also, how will you lose your health care if Obama is elected?
Why won't the US having a better reputation around the world be better for Americans?

Romney is a “total bad candidate” but widespread polling showing him behind, and losing ground for about a month now, is because the polls (including those from consistently right leaning outlets) are rigged? :roll:The problem is not just that Romney has been a total bad candidate which I agree to some point but it’s truly unfair how the media sided with Obama to the point of rigging polls as well.
