Roger Stone Taking the Fifth

Re: Stone declines Dem request for interview, invokes Fifth Amendment

Regardless, I hate to see anyone skip-out on receiving due justice. And we don't know how important testimony from guys like Flynn, Manafort, Corsi, may be.

Let's get this right:
  • The citizenry and plaintiffs sometimes are denied justice.
  • Defendants sometimes avoid being handed justice.
  • Nobody skips-out on receiving justice.

I think it shows remarkable good judgement on the part of Stone. He'll "gum up the works," so to speak, until a broad immunity is oofferred in trade for information, and then reveal that he knows nothing and he's sure of it. It'll surely be fun to watch.

"Only the mob takes the Fifth". Those are Trump's own words. Taking the Fifth is essentially a confirmation of guilt.

Re: Stone declines Dem request for interview, invokes Fifth Amendment

"Trolling the libs."
We as a country really have become garbage, eh? It's pretty disgusting.

Isn't trump's tweet witness tampering? Isn't that illegal? Oh well - we know trump is above the law and can do whatever he likes. 2 more years of this crook and then we - hopefully - won't have the russians running the country again.

It can't come soon enough. Then 45 can be properly investigated and die in prison.

Mueller still has not interviewed Stone as far as the public knows, right?

Since you don't know who Roger Stone is, here is some information for you.

"Two more associates of Roger Stone testify before Mueller grand jury

Two more associates of Roger Stone, the longtime adviser to President Trump, testified recently before a grand jury hearing evidence in the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election — the latest in a series of witnesses connected to Stone whose testimony has been sought by the special counsel.

Republicans control the Senate Judiciary Committee, so he can't claim this is about Democrats.

In any case, he's free to plead the fifth, and he's free to take on the guilt that conveys.

He'll have a hard time pleading the fifth when he has to describe crimes committed by people other than himself.

Rep. Schiff suggests Roger Stone may have lied to Congress

By Michael Balsamo | AP December 2
WASHINGTON — The top Democrat on the House intelligence committee said Sunday that the testimony of former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone should be provided to special counsel Robert Mueller “for consideration of whether perjury charges are warranted.”

Actually, he would be able to avoid giving any answer that implicates himself in a crime, directly or indirectly.

However, Stone is trying to do two other things:

1)Pleading the fifth for his documents, which is unlikely to work, and
2)Avoid appearing in front of the committee. This won't work unless the Republicans in charge of the committee don't give a sweet ****, though they may not like the loss of legitimacy that move would result in.

Stone declines Dem request for interview, invokes Fifth Amendment

https://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/419727-stone-declines-dem-request-for-interview-documents-invoking-fifth

Republican operative and longtime Trump ally Roger Stone is resisting a request for documents and an interview from Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, citing his Fifth Amendment rights.

In a letter released Tuesday by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, Stone’s attorney described the document request as “unreasonably broad” in scope and characteristic of a “fishing expedition.”

Following in the footsteps of his cohort Randy Credico, Roger Stone refuses to give testimony to the Senate. Stone got a clear message from Trump in a tweet yesterday. Some are calling this witness tampering.

Jeez Roger! Couldn't have you just a been a little more subtle about your little cover up deal with the President. I mean really. The day after that tweet? :doh

That was a passive aggressive way of not answering my question. You're posting hostility in multiple threads. Thanks anyway. I found my answer.

there's so much "innocent behavior" going on here that someone should package it and sell it as fertilizer / biofuel.

Pleading the 5th is "guilty" behavior, now?

Roger Stone-WikiLeaks side of the Russia investigation

"Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III has been focused on longtime Trump ally Roger Stone, an adviser to the president who constantly pushed Trump to run for president well before he did. Subsequent news reports about Mueller’s probe have ensnared a number of people connected to Stone and/or Trump and apparent connections to WikiLeaks (which released documents allegedly stolen by Russian intelligence officers) and the organization’s leader, Julian Assange."

Don't worry. There are others as ignorant as you here. They'll find these facts useful.

Roger Stone is a good man and is right to fight back against the wicked democrat corrupt investigation into the lie invented by Hillary and gang.

I sure hope we can hold Republicans accountable for this...this feeling you describe of watching Trump flagrantly violate the nation's norms and its laws, while we all watch, waiting for Republicans in the House/Senate to act, and being appalled when they don't. It's been a painful 2 years.

Yeah, you better hope Mueller finds something real. If he doesn't, by the time President Trump is out of office, he'll be literally the cleanest president in United States history. I know you don't want that to happen. :lamo

Late July to September: Stone tries to predict what’s next

After those documents were first released by WikiLeaks, Stone tried to get access to them. He contacted Corsi, according to NBC News, asking him to get the unreleased emails. Corsi apparently forwarded the request to Malloch. What happened next isn’t clear. Malloch has some apparent connection to British politician Nigel Farage, who had reportedly been in contact with Assange."
