But, echoing Justice Roberts, Shaw said that nothing is set in stone.

“This is not a final opinion. It is not the law. Roe v. Wade has not been overturned yet,” said Shaw. “This appears to be a legitimate document that does reflect where the court is at this moment… But we don't know exactly what the final opinion in this case will look like.”

The leaked opinion suggests five conservative justices would vote to overturn Roe, Justice Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett joining Alito. CNN reports Chief Justice John Roberts does not want to completely overturn Roe v. Wade, but he would vote to uphold the Mississippi law that bans abortion at 15 weeks of pregnancy.

I think it is fair to say that the majority have voted to basically overturn Roe. The wording was very strong. I think it could change somewhat in wording but not in intent. Regardless, the message has been sent loud a clear to the public....Roe's days are numbered even if this majority decision is modified.

Roe’s days have always been numbered. The first nail was hammered by SCOTUS when it said in Casey, oopsie poopsie, we’re not gonna do the trimester framework we made in Roe anymore and we’re gonna do viability analysis instead and we’re replacing strict scrutiny with undue burden. Roe has been a husk ever since.

I'm not so sure that most people had it as a "top of mind" possibility.....now it is.

Companies love abortions. They are much cheaper than paying prenatal, pregnancy, and maternity care costs. Abortions are good for corporation's bottom lines.
