Except it appears the misreading was a Freudian slip, which is bad for her.
Uh huh.
Except it appears the misreading was a Freudian slip, which is bad for her.
That’s an absolute lieThere was NO slip of the tongue. I was quite clear.
Her comment doesn't even make sense...A Republican lawmaker called the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the nationwide right to abortion established nearly 50 years ago in Roe v. Wade a “victory for white life,”
She didn't. She's an outright racist.
Freudian slip or not, she goofed the line. Be reasonable, please.
You are both correct, she probably just made a mistake while reading, it has happened to all of us.Agree. She just fumbled the words. According to her staff the speech said "right to life". Her saying white life didn't even make sense in the context of the sentence.
Miller can/should be ostracized for supporting and embracing Donald Trump. Am all good with that. But when trivial events like this one are distorted and blown out of proportion it just undermines valid discussions.
..
I'd go with a "slip-up" (after watching the speech), but then again, anything is possible. It may well impact on her election chances.
However, when it comes to that "Hitler" quote?
IMO it is not wrong to cite a notorious authoritarian figure, most especially an "evil" one, when pointing out a fact of social concern being mirrored currently by similar efforts. That being the efforts of extreme Leftists to infiltrate schools at all levels to indoctrinate children into authoritarian socialist and socially destructive ideologies.
"Jews will not replace us". Trump's "fine people"...I’ve said it all along. Trump supporters would have made great Nazis.
Some right wing nut says something that is normal for right wing nut's to say? There are so many things reported in that article that are so deeply disturbing that I am speechless.
You must agree with his “fine people” statement^^^^^
TDS comes in all forms.
Have you ever put white before anything you didn't intend to? Also, how many times have you quoted Hitler in a speech claiming there is one thing Hitler was right about...?
A Republican lawmaker called the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the nationwide right to abortion established nearly 50 years ago in Roe v. Wade a “victory for white life,” which was met with cheers by crowds at a rally held by former president Donald Trump.
“President Trump, on behalf of all the MAGA patriots in America, I want to thank you for the historic victory for white life in the Supreme Court yesterday,” Rep. Mary E. Miller (R) said at the rally Saturday night in Mendon, Ill., referring to Trump’s former campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
She began clapping her hands as spectators, some clutching red “Save America” placards, also began to applaud.
Of course, Ms. Miller's spokesperson said she misread her speech. Maybe, even possibly. But the Trump crowd ate it up and applauded.
And maybe it wasn't a slip-up, because last year she quoted Hitler in a speech,
This is not the first time Miller has been scrutinized for comments in her speeches. Last year, she was forced to apologize after quoting Adolf Hitler at a “Moms for America” event in Washington.
“Hitler was right on one thing. He said, ‘Whoever has the youth has the future,’” Miller said during the rally, just two days after she was sworn in as a House member, leading to calls for her resignation on social media and from Democrats.

We thought MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC was legitimate news sources, you should of heard the violent quotes already by AOC..Then quote her. I am not a fan of AOC at all, I would just like to see these examples.
If mentioning the word "Hitler" is enough to make you a Nazi, how many of you are driving Volkswagens, of which Hitler was the Godfather?A Republican lawmaker called the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the nationwide right to abortion established nearly 50 years ago in Roe v. The crowd of MAGA patriots heard that and still applauded. Excuses for them?

Somewhere there is a list of the stupidest things a politician ever said. She clearly meant to say right to life and not white life...I will grant her that....
But what did she think Hitler was right about??
"Hitler was right on one thing. He said, ‘Whoever has the youth has the future.’”
Of all of the quotes about children are the future you could have picked -- she picked Hitler's?? Why not Whitney Houston? She exterminated far less jews than Hitler did....like, by a lot less.....
No it doesn’t. If anything it’s abortion on demand that’s been a “victory for white life.”Her comment doesn't even make sense...
Exactly... she has done a 180 on logic. No it doesn’t. If anything it’s abortion on demand that’s been a “victory for white life.”
Whitney Houston exterminated a Jew?She clearly meant to say right to life and not white life...I will grant her that....
