Always knew Rod Rosenstein was a smarmy little creep with a yellow streak a mile wide. Crying to Trump in the Oval at the end begging to be allowed to maintain his GOP credentials.
The FBI turned over its counterintelligence probe to the Special Counsel. We have learned now that at that point Rosenstein told Mueller not to pursue it. Told Mueller to only pursue criminal investigation. So much for any serious investigation into Collusion which is not a federal offense.
No wonder:
- it was painfully obvious to even the casual observer that Mueller's effort was purely a criminal prosecution effort
- the Manafort/Kilmnik material in the Mueller Report simply drops off a cliff edge in the Report. What they released would appear to be what the FBI handed to them at the point the Mueller Special Counsel Probe was announced and no more
- similarly, the Trump Tower meeting also simply drops off a cliff edge in the Miueller Report
- Stone/Wikileaks drops off a cliff edge. If not for Stone being an arrogant whack job, he never would have been charged at all
The Senate Intel Committee report holds so many more details regarding counterintelligence. But make no mistake, Senate Intel Investigators DO NOT have the counterintelligence assets of the FBI or Justice and Mueller would have uncovered even more if he was allowed to pursue it
Russian GRU keyboard junkies were charged. Whoopdie ding-dong. Mueller had to charge them as a means to establish in his prosecutorial effort that material was hacked by the Russians in the first place.
