Ex-Official Gets 10 Mos. in Phone-Jam Plot
By ANNE SAUNDERS
ASSOCIATED PRESS

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A former Republican National Committee official was sentenced Wednesday to 10 months in prison for his role in the jamming of New Hampshire Democrats' telephones on Election Day 2002.

James Tobin, 45, was found guilty in December of harassment by telephone.

Prosecutors said he helped arrange more than 800 hang-up calls that jammed get-out-the-vote phone lines set up by the state Democratic Party and the Manchester firefighters' union for about an hour. Republican John Sununu defeated then-Gov. Jeanne Shaheen for the Senate that day in what had been considered a cliffhanger.

Seems like he got off pretty easy.

To me, the a-hole is going to jail. Now, I have never been in a jail, but boy it sounds like any time in jail would be humiliating. I want to know why this RNC official was calling the White House so frequently right after the jamming of the phone lines had been stopped--I think it was like 11 times. WTF? Something's rotten in the state of Denmark.

Is it always your knee-jerk reaction that whenever one of the tens of thousands Republicans do something ontoward it MUST be at the direction of the White House?

The guy got what he deserved I doubt George Bush had much to do with tying up phone lines, calm down.

Stinger, the records reflect that this guy called the White House 22 times "between 11:20 a.m. Election Day, two hours after the phone jamming was shut down, and 2:17 a.m. the next day, four hours after the outcome of the election was announced." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/16/AR2006051601712.html

22 TIMES in 15 hours. I don't even talk to my husband that many times during a 15-hour period.

And you wonder why I have brought the White House into this.

While what I posted above does not disprove Balling's theory, it explains why I am not willing to accord any probative value to it.

Any ? At all? How convienent you can just dismiss the facts which he states because they don't suit your arguement.

OMG, look at the pot calling the kettle black. Stinger, you do this ALL THE TIME. LOL

What facts have I dismissed out of hand without offering rebuttel. BTW do you also dismiss all the sources Dr. Ballings cites? If not then what is your basis for dismissing him out of hand?

And you wonder why I said you are the pot calling the kettle black.
So where is your rebuttal in my pointing out to you why I brought the White House into this? ;)
