Risks of tainted food rise as inspections drop
Amid high-profile scares, FDA safety testing has fallen by half since 2003

Updated: 9:13 p.m. ET Feb 26, 2007

The federal agency that’s been front and center in warning the public about tainted spinach and contaminated peanut butter is conducting just half the food safety inspections it did three years ago.

The cuts by the Food and Drug Administration come despite a barrage of high-profile food recalls.

“We have a food safety crisis on the horizon,” said Michael Doyle, director of the Center for Food Safety at the University of Georgia.

You're right. He's merely the frickin' President of the most powerful nation on Earth, what can he do? Right? You Bush "excusists" really should stop defending the idiot as a means of defending your own stupidity for empowering the neocons to such an extent that the Supreme Court was able to appoint that monkey into power.

Putting aside your attack ("defending your own stupidity"), I would like to ask what "excuse" you think I made.

You are the idiot for thinking that the most powerful person in the world is not in anyway responsible for the gutting of the FDA over the last three years. Read the frickin' article you idiot and maybe you will for one moment rise up from the fog of delusion that you and all of those other idiot Bush supporters have been laboring under for the last six years.

Not an excuse, but a minimization to deflect criticism. As in comparing cuts in FDA funding to hangnails.

I see. Well, so much for providing a little levity. As you were...

Sorry, I guess "a little levity" is all those poor souls who have gotten sick and/or died from food born illnesses need, huh?

This forum is very much like being in Kindergarten again. If someone doesn't want to be lambasted for their flipped comments on such a serious and wide spread issue, they shouldn't make them.

:attn1: I think you need to take a pill.

Yes, something should be done to fix the problem. I don't want to look at my food and wonder if it's going to kill me within 24 hours of eating it.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

What this has to do with the topic, I have no idea.
You do know that was a movie quote right? If you read the whole thread you might have caught on to that! :bright:
