Riot erupts in French town as veiled woman claims police brutality[W:125:219]

re: Riot erupts in French town as veiled woman claims police brutality[W:125]

Another reality injection. From the veil-wearer herself on what actually happened. Anyone familiar with the French police will find it plausible.

" ...Speaking to the Collective against Islamophobia in France (CCIF), she said, “They wanted to stop us because of my full-face veil. As usual, I cooperated. I was going to raise my veil when I saw one of the policemen violently push my mother.”
Police threatened her husband when he asked them to stop. Then, she continued, “Once the policeman was finished with my mother, he came towards me making big gestures in my face and speaking aggressively. Frightened, I asked him to be quiet. He then grabbed me by the veil at the level of my head and dragged me with monstrous force before slamming me onto the hood of the car, shouting, ‘Are you talking to me? Are you talking to me?’
“I turned around, and I saw two policemen holding my husband on the ground and handcuffing him. Once we were in the car, they shouted at us as if we were dogs. They threatened my husband with clenched fists, saying, ‘What are you going to do now, you little fag,’ and hitting him in the car. At the police station, the policemen insulted me, calling me a ghost.”... "

Well, if the world socialist website wants us to knuckle under to the jackbook of Islamism who are we to argue?

Those who have a working mind are the real enemy instead of those who would freeze the world in the dark ages forever.

Did you read post 48 before jumping?

re: Riot erupts in French town as veiled woman claims police brutality[W:125]

Those particular women explained why they choose to wear it in the video i supplied. Did you watch it?

It is against the law to wear them in France. If they chose to wear them in their homes or in the mosque then there is no objection, but France has a very rich history of people showing their faces clearly and not hiding under a body or head covering. Certainly some respect must be shown to the customs and laws of the host country when people emigrate. If they feel the need to cover their heads perhaps they should emigrate to a more burqa friendly country, the UK perhaps.

The Burka is no more a part of Islam than Tie Dye T-Shirts or bell bottoms. Their is a long held standing in Muslim and non Mulsim countries alike about what clothing can be worn where, and in France it is illegal to wear the burka in public because it covers the face. Why not learn to deal with it, go burka-free as millions of men and women have, and move on with your lives?

One of the many benifits of living in the U.K. is that anybody who does dare resist the Talibanization will be called an "Islamophobe" by all those who support it.

They felt the same towards Fascism, Nazism, Communism and now Islamofascism. They don't run too deep, or consider the consequences. Their only real interest is bringing down the Western democracies.

Instead of suffering under the stigma of being called "useful idiots" they seem keen to demonstrate repeatedly that the phrase is not harsh enough.

You are that familiar with the French police? I've been their many times and they have never been less than friendly. Are you as familiar with Al-taqiyya and the Arab culture?

Sometimes I wonder if people are actually setting out to be hypocrites of the absolute highest order. I mean, here you have all the posturing about women's rights, gay rights and whatnot as long as they are talking about white westerners, but they protect those who brutalize both if they are not white nor western. The cognitive dissonance is so extreme that I have come to suspect that this particular style of multiculturalism constitutes a mental illness. If not a mental illness, then at least the projection of some serious issues pertaining to self esteem.

I am worthless so my own culture is worthless therefore I will support its Talibanization by calling anybody an "Islamophobe" who does not join me in lockstep.

Induced as a child and as a result feel that they want to wear it. Indoctrination as a child. Unless of course they are happy to comply with the strictest guidelines of their religion.

Watch the video Serenity submitted and you'll see why many of these women appear to be very troubled.

People who are conditioned so easily that their political views represent little more than Pavlovian reaction will never question the nature of a political stunt. Heck, here you have somebody with an obvious agenda seting out to cause a stir quite deliberately, and manipulate reaction accordingly, and instead of questioning the intent of such a stunt, many simply salivate as they have been conditioned to do.

I'm reminded of the stunt a few Islamist Imams from Minneapolis pulled a few years ago where they boarded a plane and went though the motions of securing the exits in a fake terrorism run. They then tried to claim the rights of Muslims were somehow violated by racial profiling. Stupid people then reacted in much the same way thoughtless and naive people now react by never questioning their agenda, but simply defending them.

The alience between Islamism and the extreme left has become so automatic that it is a case of both ends against the middle. THe sooner people realize that and the soomer they realize the fraudulent nature of the rationalizations they both offer, the better.

It's little more than a conditioned response for some people, and nowhere is this more apparent than this continual defense of extreme Islamism.

Jean Claude Revel wrote a great deal of that phenomenon in The Totalitarian Temptation, how people were attracted to Nazism, Fascism, Communism, etc, despite having all the information available that these were dangerous movements. These same people would defend these isms to the point of death, and it really didn't matter which one it was They could shift from one ideology to another quite easily so long as it brought down the free world.

There are many people who need a 'system' to run their lives for them and will embrace any ism that gives them less freedom and less involvement in their scary day to day decision making processes.. The sad fact is that many people were content to live in 1984 and have Big Brother tell them what do to. Their is no symbol in the world that symbolizes ignorance and oppression moreso than the burka. All the other similarly oppressive symbols have now largely disappeared.

re: Riot erupts in French town as veiled woman claims police brutality[W:125]

Jeez, here we go again with this crap....

I'm not going to have another debate on why I think the law is stupid, or try to convince anyone that some women DO choose to wear certain garments, including a full body burkha. I'm tired of this dead-end debate.

All I want to say is that, regardless of how I feel about this idiotic, unnecessary law, there is no way I'm going to make excuses for the unacceptable behavior reported in the OP. If indeed the reports are true and there were riots and a policeman was attacked, this is not the way civilized human beings are supposed to respond to perceived or real police brutality. There is no excuse for this. I don't give a fig if it's Ramadan or not. There is NO excuse. Period.

These attacks will continue in small waves over many years and western Europe will find itself assimilating with Islam, not the other way around. The fact is that there is very little anyone can do about this 'crap'. This was an obvious setup and there will be more. The idea is continued intimidation, a little at a time, until the host population is subdued.

You know I don't share that apocalyptic view. But, either way, if that ever happens, I'm so outta here.

Islamic leaders certainly share that view, however, and i see nothing that, over time, which will stop them. They have vision and the western democracies don't. All we have is the plaintive cry of Rodney King complaining 'Can't we all get along'?

Look at the stats (google emigration from Europe) and you'll see that many Europeans who can are already leaving. I'm in Vancouver at the moment but also live in Costa Rica and there are many Europeans arriving to both places to start a new life. A lot of it is economic but many also just want to avoid Muslims and cultural upheavals going on..

Yeah, at this point it's mostly economic migration. Those who are only worried about foreigners taking over simply move to another part of the country where immigrants are under-represented. Heck, sometimes all it takes is moving to a different neighborhood in the same city.

re: Riot erupts in French town as veiled woman claims police brutality[W:125]

Why would any woman choose to wear it?

The same reason they choose to wear a ball cap with a pony tail pulled through the back of it. It's a lot easier than buying twenty five kinds of hair spray, shampoo, conditioner, fixer, tubes of stuff men can't even identify, then spending hours in front of a mirror getting it just right.

I know. I'm married.

So it eliminates the hassle of make-up, conditioners, lipstick, and general good grooming?

That's the most logical explanation I've yet heard!

They're stuck in the 19th. century. It's a wonder they use cars, TVs, or computers.

Some of them are, anyway, except you overshot the century by about 12.

Some of them are modern and reasonable, though. It is quite fashionable among the more illiberal and dogmatic portion of the far left to defend the most backwards, however, while abandoning the more modern and reasonable to their fate at the hands of the 7th century ones.

Quite right. The 'moderate' Muslims, like the leftists, don't speak out against the Islamofascists either. The moderates stay silent out of fear, the leftists out of ignorance.
