President Obama:paris Attack Is An Attack On All Humanity." On November 13, President Obama delivered remarks on multiple attacks in Paris, France. Obama condemned the attacks and expressed support for France saying, "This is an attack not just on Paris, it's an attack not just on the people of France, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share" (emphasis added):

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Good evening, everybody. I just want to make a few brief comments about the attacks across Paris tonight. Once again, we've seen an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians. This is an attack not just on Paris, it's an attack not just on the people of France, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share.

We stand prepared and ready to provide whatever assistance that the government and the people of France need to respond. France is our oldest ally. The French people have stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States time and again. And we want to be very clear that we stand together with them in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

Paris itself represents the timeless values of human progress. Those who think that they can terrorize the people of France or the values that they stand for are wrong. The American people draw strength from the French people's commitment to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. We are reminded in this time of tragedy that the bonds of liberté and égalité and fraternité are not only values that the French people care so deeply about, but they are values that we share. And those values are going to endure far beyond any act of terrorism or the hateful vision of those who perpetrated the crimes this evening.

We're going to do whatever it takes to work with the French people and with nations around the world to bring these terrorists to justice, and to go after any terrorist networks that go after our people.

His and previous administration policies have brought us to where we are today.

Why shouldn't Obama be criticized?

Perhaps that "do whatever it takes" will be to add another 50 "non-combat" boots on the ground.

Since Obama inherited the worthless Bush/Cheney SOFA .

How many soldiers would you like to send overseas and how would you pay for it?

Since Obama has a different set of rules for budgeting with this GOP Congress compared to the one last decade .

I would pay for it by taking one less family vacation - personal sacrifice is expected of the military, including the CINC, during times of war. How much could it cost to send 50 troops to France?

False. Budget rules and procedures have not changed.

And if France requests two American divisions to join them in an invasion of the ISIS "caliphate?"

Maybe he knows how unfair it was to do that to Bush, then.

Greetings, Thrilla. :2wave:

Bush must indeed be special - he's been gone seven years and they still haven't stopped looking for ways to blame him for everything wrong that's happened since he's been gone. :sigh: If Trump turns out to be the nominee, though, BHO might get to take his turn in the barrel to see how that works, because Trump has never been wrong about anything in his life either.

And if France requests two American divisions to join them in an invasion of the ISIS "caliphate?"

You bet, France has been our ally since the Revolinary war.

Greetings, Beaudreaux. :2wave:

I very much doubt that will happen, but who knows how future historians will judge the past?

I doubt it as well. I wonder what his excuse will be if France goes to NATO and invokes Article 5 and asks the us for ground troops and armor to attack the ISIS troops in Syria and Iraq?

How many soldiers would you like to send overseas and how would you pay for it?

Since Obama has a different set of rules for budgeting with this GOP Congress compared to the one last decade .

As many as it would take to make ISIS/ISIL disappear.

Personally I would cut domestic spending in half, look for waste in the DoD especially in the procurement and contracting areas (like the Gas Station we built in Afghanistan) and reduce the non military Federal Payroll by 10 - 15 percent. Congress should take a huge pay cut too.

Well he's on record saying they will have our support, whatever that word means to him, since they've been a longtime great ally and all......

We should go. As J.J. Pershing said on arrival in France in 1918: "Lafayette, nous voila!"
