Endorsing this monster for me, Trump, has, unambiguously, lost all respect I had for him.

Teaming up with this fasho is not a mere difference of opinion. It is collusion with fascism.

Yes, RFK was always wacky on vaccines and other things but was not a fasho.

Like I was with Trump, I was instantly turned off by RFK Jr. when I first encountered interviews and articles about him. I don't like crazy people as president. And every thing I ever see from him tells me he is the battiest person in this election though I haven't really looked much into Jill Stein or others. On the batshit crazy meter he's way up there. Leaving dead bears in Central Park. Saying he used to hang out with all of the perverts in NY. Anti-vax (all of them). And seriously, that is one dude who is not comfortable listening to live. Not just because of his voice, because he is obviously mentally challenged.

RFK Jr has long been a wack job nutter.
 

It's hard to believe now, but RFK Jr. was once a highly respected environmental attorney....and now here he is endorsing a "drill baby drill" environmental rapist like Trump who wants to end the EPA.

This is probably the most stunning political transformation of a public figure that I've ever seen. And very sad for people like me who once admired him.

Kennedy had promised to be “the best environmental president in American history.” For decades, as an attorney and celebrity activist, he urged more vigorous enforcement of federal regulations guaranteeing clean air and water.
Now he joins a campaign whose policies, according to critics, would scale back those regulations and weaken the agencies that uphold them.

His decision has left many of Kennedy’s former allies on environmental causes in shock, even those who had already broken with him over his anti-vaccine views or quixotic presidential bid. Some said the move undid any legacy Kennedy — named one of Time magazine’s “heroes of the planet” in 1999 — could still claim to have in the nation’s environmental movement.

“It’s sad and surreal,” said Michael Brune, a former executive director of the Sierra Club who was arrested alongside Kennedy at the White House in 2013 for protesting the Keystone XL pipeline. “It’s a betrayal of his values and the work that he’s done for most of his career. He’s supporting someone who’s been the most aggressive in terms of trying to undermine our bedrock environmental laws.”

Unlike Republicans who have criticized Trump only to later bend the knee to him, Brune said, Kennedy is — or at least was — separated from him by seemingly insurmountable policy differences.

“In terms of policy issues that people hold dear, I can’t think of another example where a prominent political figure with such a strong record on one issue can go so dramatically and rapidly in the other direction,” Brune said.

See this is why I think this is more complicated...

He has some good policy and was OK on some things.

And well, as a socialist, I am used to disagreements, but again, throwing your support to a fasho is something else
 

He has 10 siblings, and he was born into privilege. That explains a lot, IMO.

That and the grift. RFK Jr. goes where the money takes him.

One technique people use for power, is to pretend to care about other issues that get them a lot of support, while actually caring about something else. It's not uncommon to see loud advocacy for 'social justice' type issues from people with their own agendas. Have you seen Nixon's private comment about not caring about the issues his administration got praise for?

Can't agree with that. Think it has nothing to do with it, and the other 10 siblings also born to privilege seem to be much better people.
