The firing of an Atlanta police officer who faces a murder charge in the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks has been reversed by a city review board

Rolfe was charged with felony murder. The case is pending, and a new district attorney, Fani Willis, has sought to recuse her office, citing concerns that her predecessor mishandled the case.

Interesting that he'll be rehired even though he is still facing a potential murder trial. Modified duty?

“Due to the City’s failure to comply with several provisions of the Code and the information received during witnesses’ testimony, the Board concludes the Appellant was not afforded his right to due process,” the board said in its decision.

I doubt he'll ever work for, let alone want to for the city again. CYA time for the city.

Important context:

In its ruling Wednesday, Atlanta's Civil Service Board said Garrett Rolfe was "was not afforded his right to due process" in his firing, "due to the City’s failure to comply with several provisions of the code and the information received during witnesses’ testimony."

"Therefore, the board grants the appeal of Garrett Rolfe and revokes his dismissal as an employee of the APD," the board wrote.

The reversal was over the process of his firing, not what he was fired for.

That case seemed iffy at best.

The deceased fired a taser at the cop. How is the cop supposed to know it's not a firearm?

Why was the deceased fleeing the cops to begin with?
