Reuters confirms... George Soros tied to OWS financing

this thread is just one in a never ending series of threads brought to you by the Buffalo Springfield and their hit tune "For What Its Worth"

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away

Rightwingers love pretending that they don't know what OWS is protesting so they can make up dishonest arguments (ex "they are protesting capitalism") about what OWS is protesting. There's the hypocrisy, and it's coming from the right

This sure looks like them protesting capitalism...care to comment? HIPOCRISY???

You still can't show that a penny of corporate money went to OWS. And your claim that anyone has "taken over" the protests is dishonest BS.

I can show that millions of corporate money went to Tea Parties.

I assure you that you are best served not getting into a clash of wits and facts with me. You are pushing a requirement that money be shown actually going to the protesters, and apparently money going to groups organizing the protesters doesn't count. Can you meet your own requirement concerning the Tea Party?

Well...what are they protesting?
I had seen signs stating that 'Capitalism doesn't work' and 'Capitalism has failed' but I guess that is not protesting capitalism. I also know they are protesting the banks (per their signage). Aren't the essense of banking capitalism? Ergo protesting capitalism.

Just go here and maybe you will then see..

I have seen the reasons for the protests on various websites claiming a full plethora of puposes. You cannot argue that there is some 'fringe' element that IS protesting Capitalism...can you?

There are a handful - like there are racists among the Tea Party types. Should either group be saddled as anti-capitalism or racist because they have a small group of members who hold these beliefs?

I see the rightwingers are still trying to pretend that OWS is protesting capitalism

I guess all the Teabaggers are protesting half-breed Muslins

I'm not surprised

No but either denying it exist in their midst is disingenuous.

Why would you say such? Doesn't he photo include protestors carying signs that are anti-capitalist? If you can't see that who is the one pretending? I, for one, am not pretending anything and PURELY don't care what they are protesting for/against. More power to them, first amendment and all. Heck, I have seen some that are protesting things I agree with. To date I am unaware of them infringing on my rights. They may however be infringing on my wallet but that is probably unmeasurable.

i was at the OWS protest in Times Square on Saturday. I saw not ONE sign that condemned capitalism.

GOOD for them, maybe they supressed this faction of their movement. Maybe they can further police the fringe elements that are smearing them.

I hope not. All the corporate owned donut shops probably handed out free food.

OWS is not anti-Capitalist. but they do want strong regulations upon banking and corporations.

this is what Adam Smith, the founder of Capitalism, envisioned.

I think it is disingenuous to say what they are for or against as it has been the stance of the movement so far to not put out any positions per se. I intend to go to the city in the next couple of weeks and poke around to see for myself what it is about.

My sense is that it is a disparate group voicing numerous concerns.

Yes, but so did Karl Marx...Mises, Heyak, etal of the Austrian school of thought disagree to 'strong'.

Karl Marx wanted Capitalism but with common-sense regulations and restrictions to protect society & the people?

that's bull****.

Whether he is helping out with ideas or money, good for Soros either way. Everybody who can should be doing their part like that.

because I read, listen to, and speak to them about their views.

As do I, and I know that there is a significant anti-capitalist milieu within OWS.

Anyways, regardless, the movement is implicitly anti-capitalist in nature, it just has to realize itself as such.

I love Milwaukee! As Alice Cooper said, it was the only major US city with a socialist mayor.

But it ain't half bad when the weather doesn't suck.
