I'm still just placing cursor at the end of the needed part and hitting return to separate.Am I off here?
There was a time when responding to a post, you could separate the part of the post that you wanted to address by inserting “carriage return” and then responding. The last few times I have tried, my pepy is looking like part of the post I am replying to.
Anyone else getting this?

Maybe that’s what I’m doing different. I have been hitting return at the start of the next part of the post and then adding my reply.I'm still just placing cursor at the end of the needed part and hitting return to separate.
Always just place my cursor at end of sentence where I want to split and hit return.Maybe that’s what I’m doing different. I have been hitting return at the start of the next part of the post and then adding my reply.
Try selecting the part of the post that you wish to respond to, then click Reply in the pop-up.
Word to the wise, don't shorten a post out-of-context.

That’s because the software thinks my answer is part of your post. Yours was only a one-line post, so I hit enter in the middle.Rex, I have no idea WTF you did, but it won't even allow me to reply or quote!
I suppose perhaps I wasn't totally clear. I hit reply(or quote) to put the whole post in my reply box. Then I place cursor where want to split, and return(enter), then continue, splitting, bolding, etc along the way.
I hit reply to your whole post, placed cursor after "middle.", hit enter.. Split, and my cursor is already right there where I typed "I". Then the rest is as below with your name still there as a header. That’s because the software thinks my answer is part of your post. Yours was only a one-line post, so I hit enter in the middle.
and i can split that..I have already
and that...had complaints about this
and that.... I have been here a while
and thought I was up on posting/replying???
That's interesting. I've never done that. I've always hit <Reply>, hit enter at the end of the part I want to isolate and then type my response. If there's more in the post that I want to ignore, I just delete it. Your method eliminates the deleting part.Try selecting the part of the post that you wish to respond to, then click Reply in the pop-up.

That was it. I did not notice that icon was high-lighted!Weird. I've done the same thing on phone, tablet or laptop since I've been here.
Have you happened to hit that BB code thing or something? (Those brackets over on the right of tool bar. [ ] )
I just recalled it did that shit to me a while back. Errant finger! WTF!That was it. I did not notice that icon was high-lighted!
Thanks, man!
I have no trouble replying to any part of a post i choose.
What is the purpose of that icon, [ ]?I just recalled it did that shit to me a while back. Errant finger! WTF!
Never screwed with it, but apparently BB code?(I think) where you can enter a certain mode to do..What is the purpose of that icon, [ ]?
And to think of it, it seems a mode where you can edit an actual post. Believe that is how when I saw and questioned when someone actually changed the name of a member. What is the purpose of that icon, [ ]?
You are now Rex hit BB code. What is the purpose of that icon, [ ]?
I don’t even know what carriage return is, but all I know is that when I go to this site, even though I checked the box that automatically gets me here, it says that it have to sign in and when I put in the password and my name, it says that it’s incorrect oh well… that should be my worst problemAm I off here?
