Require prostate exam before Viagra/Levitra?

Yes, but we are not talking about that. Did I say somewhere I approved of that? If you ask for a service the doctor should give you that service without requiring other services are rendered.

Doctors offices are not McDonald's - what you want is not necessarily what you get. A doctor would be remiss if he/she just prescribed a drug without investigating to find the cause of the problem first.

At some point life just becomes living while deteriorating. There isn't much point to that after a while.

My dad's life did not deteriorate due to the prostate tumour. Right until he died, his quarterly PSA tests were under 1.

No, that would be silly.

Pregnant women don't need a pregnancy test.

Men with ED should get a prostate exam.

I believe it is required for the doctor to verify the pregnancy before doing an abortion.

Call me what you will, but I'm not having someones finger up my ass.

You would rather die than have a colonoscopy?? Sorry, I just don't believe you.

I was talking about life in general.

No, a doctor is just a service provider that has the job of rendering services for their consumers. When they are rendering and charging consumers for services not requested in order to get services that are requested the consumer is not getting good service.

This kind of reminds me of a mechanic that decides to fix something without the consent of the owner and gets the bright idea that they will get paid for it.

And it's not something I want to live through. It's not going to happen, sorry.

Why? Sounds like extreme - very - homophobia. You'd rather die a horrible death than have a doctor stick a probe up ass? Wow.

Do you even know what homophobia means? Stop using terms that you don't understand.

I won't speak for Henrin but I would definitely die before someone sticks anything up there.

Re the colonoscopy, you are foolish. That procedure is one of the very few we can have performed that will PREVENT cancer.

Did someone call Tigger foolish? That's a first.

Really! What's worse, being uncomfortable for a little while, maybe even a little embarrassed or having cancer? Catching it early is your best of survival.

I have had three. the first two were years ago-not under anesthesia. Why, the first one I had alcoholic poisoning and there was a major concern that a sedative would have been really a nasty combination.

as a doctor friend of mine noted, embarrassment never killed anyone and believe me I have yet to meet a doctor who really likes doing rectal exams.

There are things some of us are not willing to put up with. It's not really your problem, is it?

I had one about a year ago and I'll bet you money he was either 3 inches too further than he needed to be or I underestimated the size of his digits..................

No, just giving my opinion like everyone else.

They can just as easily take blood to see if everything is fine with the prostate. It might be as accurate as a camera up the ass, but well, that is not acceptable to me. Though I have no idea how the finger thing does anything, but that isn't acceptable either.

Obviously I'm not going to change your mind, so whatever. Like you said, not my problem.

Colonoscopies are not prostate exams. They are used to detect/diagnose a variety of problems with the colon, bowel

Do you wonder if you might be more comfortable with a female doctor performing the procedure ?.................

No, why?

Yes, I know, but since I have said no to both in this thread I included it.
