Its not just Gingrich's lack of personal values....its his hypocrisy as well. This man, who had the audacity to scream and yell about prop 8 being overturned because it destroys the "sancitity of marriage"....is the same guy who left his wife will she was on her deathbed and then cheated on the next woman....all the while crying out about Clinton's indiscretions.

Gingrich is probably THE BIGGEST hypocrite out there when it comes to "family values" and don't think that Republicans are going to forget that....and certainly Democrats are going to remind everyone of the lack of morals and integrity that Gingrich has.

I didn't vote because Ron Paul wasn't on the list. I realize he a Libertarian, but he is the only person on the Right capable of beating Obama. Romney would be a safe second-place bet. Honestly, I don't think Palins name should even be up there. There isn't enough political capital in her wallet.

This just doesn't sound right to me, like he blackmailed the teachers. Care to comment?

You mean he asked them to actually contribute to their retirement plans instead of getting it for nothing.

THAT RAT BASTARD!

The ONLY republican candidate who would stand a chance of beating Obama is Romney....and I doubt seriously that the evangelical base would stomach a mormon candidate.

Romney is the most qualified candidate available on either side (and was in 08) he had two problems

1) the bible thumpers didn't like a Mormon (so they got a guy born muslim who attended a racist black church)

2) other GOP candidates didn't like a guy who was

a) first in his high school class
b) top of his class at stanford and then graduated first in his class at BYU
c) was top of his class at Harvard B school as well as graduating with honors from the Harvard Law School
d) is a multi millionaire (and didn't marry into it as did McCain)

The envy people like McCain and Rudy and Jokeabee had for the man wasn't helped by the fact that Mitt Came off as much smarter than the rest of them (which of course he is)

you are partially correct

Ron Paul has no chance of beating Obama

he has a good message but he is a lousy messenger perceived as a kook by many more people than the main stream obama slurping media

too many americans are terrified of freedom-including the freedom to fail

true enough

I don't know what is worse

GOP bible thumpers and family value fascists whining about the dem lack of morality while they are screwing around on their wives with bimbos or boys or the fat cat dem socialist-chic asswipes who whine about "republican greed" while using welfare socialism and enviro-extremism as a means to become filthy rich while never producing anything of value (AL gore, John Edwards, etc)

well...that would be "other"......but imo paul has no chance of even winning a primary, much less the general election.

Mormanism is a turn off, but it's RomneyCare that kills him more than anything else now.

i'm surprised. gingrich is just palin slimy, imo. i have no awful feeling about romney, though.

"Palin slimy?" I'd vote for Gingrich, but he is significantly slimier than Palin, who is accused of everything under the sun and guilty of almost none of it. Even accusations of her being stupid are less unfounded than her being "slimy", especially less so than Gingrich.

Romney always struck me as a used care salesman type. Not sure why you rank him above those two, either.

is that a freudian slip? or just a simple typo?

either way, it works.

geo.

maybe to you

not to the bible thumpers

maybe to you

not to the bible thumpers

So they should take a part of their lives, their religious beliefs, and **** on them because you like Romney? How... arrogant.

Romney is a Morman, mormans are seen as odd ducks to most folks, their religion... alien. So yeah, I'd think non-Morman Christians might take that into account.

I agree with you 100%. Romney is by FAR the best candidate, but the GOP is so messed up these days that they will never nominate him. The base of the party will never support a mormon....its just that simple.
As far as I see it, Romney is the ONLY candidate that could beat Obama in 2012....but the GOP is too blind to see that.

Not at all....they are both moderate Republicans....a dying breed.

Actually, I don't have a problem with true fiscal conservative Republicans in the Barry Goldwater vein. I could even support one if the Democrat nominee were not to my liking.
However, there are very few of them left. They would need to denounce the right-wing big government social agenda for me to support them though.

actually there are plenty of them left. they are generally called "the Tea Party" :)

nah, putting Romney up in 2012 would be like putting up Bob Dole in 1996.

I understand how the lobotomy of bible thumping works. I saw an interview of some lobotomized at some Pray In where they gave several of the zombies a quiz. At that point it looked like Shrillary and Romney were going to be the candidates. All four of the polled zombies agreed with Romney on 9/10 or 10/10 issues and none agreed with Shrillary on more than one issue yet all four said they would vote for Clinton because she was a "real christian"

stuff like that makes me puke

Perhaps in theory....but the tea party is comprised of a lot of other wackos as well as the genuine fiscal conservatives...without the radical right-wing social agenda.

Not even close. Running McCain in 2008 was like Bob Dole....running Gingrich would be like Dole in 1996.
