Why is not almost ALL government spending robbing somebody to pay for somebody else?
I'm talking about giving money directly to an individual.
Can you give me some examples of that?
The premise of social safety net examples? The premise is to help people who need help. And that is what they do.
Examples:
people who are hungry get food stamps.
people who are homeless get housing.
people with kids get aid for those families.
people who are sick and cannot pay get medical treatment
Can you follow those examples? Can you get that helping those in need and alleviating their condition is proof of the programs success?
yeah I know - silly questions!!!!! :doh:roll:
Sadly, Ernst, what the Constitution says is actually irrelevant. Yeah, we can read it and see what the federal government's powers are SUPPOSED to be. But if the federal government says something is legal, then it's legal. It may be evil. It may be contrary to the Constitution, but none of that matters. The federal government has absolute and final legal authority to determine the extent of its own powers.
And how do we know what the Constitution actually means? THE SUPREME COURT interprets it for us. Not you.
It is the Supreme Court who interprets the US Constitution. They have been doing so for over 220 years. And not a single Court decision agrees with your far right extremist interpretation of what the powers of Congress are or what the scope of the Federal Government is regarding the American people.
So for you to
1- know this reality about who interprets the Constitution
2- know that not a single Court decision in 220 years agrees with you
3- cling to this ridiculous interpretation in despite of those two facts
shows that their is some fantasy world of the USA that you seem to believe exists that has nothing at all to do with the real one the rest of us inhabit.

Technically, SS was supposed to be peter saving up to pay peter, only it got ****ed up because the government was running it. Also, because average lifespan after retirement increased.Yes, social security checks would be one example of robbing Peter to pay Paul. As would medicare, and medicaid. Those are a few examples of what I'm talking about.

Which only goes to show that the government is incapable of long-term planning, and thus should never have been allowed to try it's hand at any.SS was supposed to be a money maker for the government.
during that time, life expectancy was 65, and a person retired at 62.. shows the government in their thinking believed more would be paid into the system then going out.
The GOP has a had a few good days with the polls..
The GOP policy of not insuring 40 some million people who are uninsured continues..
The House simply voted to kill ACA again today, with 3 dozen vulnerable Dems..
How much has the GOP spent to mmake the ACA fail .
Not enough. It's still there.eace
I think the fact that Obamacare has been such a failure... that it was not, and probably will not ever be, ready for prime time and that was precisely [ as well as in general the imprudence of the damn thing ] what those in the conservative tea parties wing of the Republican party were trying to emphasize, highlight, to warn and rail against... and that when it comes to a real down-the-line accounting, who was for, who was against and who was truly confrontationally against this super clunker, people will finally understand whose hearts were in the proper place.
Folks like McCain have marginalized themselves... they are just the buffers which the other team uses to pass these things on to the American people... we needed someone to stand up finally, to say, "STOP!!!" ...to risk a little, to draw a REAL line in the sand... to actually start the battle...not just appease.
We have been diminished as individuals by this unconstitutional tyrannical act. People with their hands out are always grateful to politicians who will force their neighbors to pay for the things the takers want.It was textbook incompetence. So...yes. It was a joke. But, in time, the system will beging to work. Costs will quit rising, and all the other problems will begin to settle down. When people get insurance who never had it, especially those with pre-existing conditions, all the naysayers will be outed as fools.

Junk Insurance = Bankrupcy..
Didn't even read your five-word quip you sent me Jack--but needed to tell you--compared to my four sentences..
As AP told me, just pass me by as I pass you by..
Most of you leftovers from Politico on DP are rightists and pre--anti--Obama..
Remember ABO..For Obama, it is still Against Brutal Odds .
If the voters in Virginia want to drive out the achievers who can move I say let them. Virginia will soon match Detroit for its population growth, promised government services, taxes and unmatched misery.I don't care why your party split the vote. Losing serves you all right.
The Dems got their **** together. They consolidated voters from Blue dogs to progressives. The GOP is too busy purging "RINOs" and infighting.
Welcome to electoral hell. If McAulife winning does nothing else, it should, at the very least, show you you're there.

We must win the Article V fight in 2/3rds of the States. But in the meantime arm up.

We should fight every fight. So far the establishment Republicans have covered themselves with dishonor. Or do you believe we should only fight the battles we know we can win?Next in line in the stupid department is an attempt to impeach Holder. While I would love to see him, Obama, and their 40 thieves gone, it aint gonna happen.
Like it or not, Republicans can always find a way to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

LOL. Yeah, uh-huh. Democrats are no longer Socialists. Obamacare is unconstitutional. It is theft. If it and this regime stands then the nation falls.Except the Democrats are no longer socialists. And, anyone calling Obnamacare socialist is totally unaware of what socialism is. THe last socialist act in the USA regarding healthcare was Geaorge W's implimentation of the Prescription Drug plan addition to Medicare.
But, you're too blinded by rage against the D's to see that.

I believe you are part of the problem.
