Republicans Block $13.6 Billion In Military Aid For Ukraine Last Week....But Now Criticize Biden For Not Doing Enough To Help Ukraine

You can't make this stuff up, folks. Senator Rick Scott and the rest of the Republican Traitor Party in action.

Rick Scott actually cares about Ukraine? Shocker. He worships a guy who hates Ukraine (Trump the Terrorist).

For all we know, they might just be trying to take money away from the budget to fix our own problems (see their opposition to the American Rescue Plan), not really interested in the Ukrainian people.

The Democrats used Ukrainian crisis as political fodder and you know it.

They threw the aid money for the Ukraine into a much larger bill that was already opposed by those Senate Republicans that you are trashing.

If the Democrats were the least bit honest, they would have created a separate bill which those 21 Senators would have been in full support of.

But here you are regurgitating more spoon fed biased nonsense like a good little liberal/proggie. (y)

That's how democracy functions. Other Republican senators get it.

Bull. McConnel was on Face The Nation 5 minutes ago and said that every one of those Senators was for supporting the Ukraine.

Much of the money for the last bill has even been spent yet and here you are wanting to spend another 1.5 trillion.

Maybe you should read up before running your mouth on here 24/7

Maybe you should read up on it. There was nothing stopping Republicans from proposing a separate $13.6 billion bill in support of Ukraine a couple of weeks ago. They simply had no interest in doing so.

All Republicans want to do is criticize Biden, like the hypocrites they are, and you're a sucker for it each time. A repeat customer that they can always count on to be blind and gullible.

Having to look at this again, we have two sides of the same coin.

Sure, we can be critical of Republicans for not supporting the bill *but* we can be critical of Democrats for linking Ukraine to domestic agendas.

In times like this bills should stand on their own merit, the bit about "that is how Democracy works" forgives the idea of linking two things that have nothing to do with each other all the while a nation is being invaded by a nuclear power in the hands of a lunatic.

Don't we think that responding in a manner that supports Ukraine should stand on its own?

This was an appropriation included in the appropriations legislation. The government just decided what it's going to spend this year and that included money for Ukraine.

I am sorry, there is nothing routine about dealing with Russia invading Ukraine.

The democrats run the show, why do you keep making excuses for them?

Yes, the Dems have the simple majority in the House and Senate.
What Bills have the Republican's brought forward for support to Ukraine?

As a registered Republican I am getting increasingly upset with how partisan politics is increasing in Congress. This is especially evident in the Senate where it is
50R 50D with the VP being D.

So yes, the Dems are "running the show". However, if both Parties can't figure out how to develop bipartisan legislation (Bills) they all need to go.

No excuses needed, the Dems aren't the Putinistas who voted against military aid for Ukraine.
No, but they are the dickheads who stuffed said military aid into a $1.5T spending bill that we can't afford.

You can't criticize Biden for not doing enough to help Ukraine, when you voted against $13.6 billion in military aid for Ukraine just last week.

That's called "hypocrisy". Look it up, Republicans practice it a lot.

They voted against the ENTIRE bloated 1.5 trillion omnibus spending bill which was submitted 2 days before the vote was held. 13bn for the Ukraine was the tiniest part of that bill.

Last week, Scott was one of 31 Republicans to vote against a sweeping, $1.5 trillion spending bill to fund government agencies and departments through the remainder of the fiscal year, a bill that also included $13.6 billion in assistance for Ukraine. Biden signed the bill into law Tuesday, saying the United States was “moving urgently to further augment the support to the brave people of Ukraine as they defend their country.”

After casting a “no” vote, Scott assailed the overall spending bill as wasteful, arguing that it was filled with lawmakers’ pet projects. “It makes my blood boil,” Scott said last week.

Democrats quickly condemned what they saw as glaring hypocrisy among the Republicans who voted against the aid but were quick to criticize Biden as a commander in chief leading from behind in addressing Ukraine’s needs.

Rick Scott. The Floridian who was involved in the biggest Medicare scam in the United States. He has absolutely no room to talk about wasteful spending. Credibility = ZERO.

It was put into the spending bill because (1) it's spending, and (2) the Dems wanted it to pass. Hanging a target out there for the Putinistas in the GOP to obstruct makes zero sense if you actually want to get the aid to Ukraine.
If they wanted it to pass they would have either introduced it as a standalone bill or included it with other spending measure the Republicans would agree to. They didn’t want it to pass so they could use it for campaign fodder to try to stem the huge loss in seats expected during the midterms. They know that their supporters will spread the desired message even though it’s not really honest. This thread is a good example of that.

…it did pass. Biden signed it last week.

So what? If the Republicans really wanted to help Ukraine, they would have advocated a separate bill for it. They did not.

Thats changing the subject. Your original claim was they voted against aid, but they didnt. They voted against a massive ominbus bill which included aid. If it had included a ban on abortion and Dems voted against it, would you claim they voted against aid for Ukraine?

So they are letting humans die/denying aid and then turning around and criticizing the people within our government who are trying to help.

That sounds exactly like the 2022 non-Christian Republican party to me.
