Republicans are now arguing that teens (15-19yo) are NOT having enough babies which then INJURES their (red) states.

Note that this isn't a NEW lawsuit. It's an existing one that they have added this "WE NEED MORE BREEDERS" crap on to.

Compelling women/couples to produce offspring for the state. Perfect! Enter the 13th Amendment.

My argument was developed around abortion but I can see how it fits here.

It would be govt use of force to demand women remain in a more risky and dangerous physical state without their consent...to serve society or the govt. Involuntary servitude.​

Women 15-19 yrs of age. How many women that age are married (even in the south )

This is just another example of the right's blatant hypocrisy. The right blames so many of society's ills on single mothers, and yet by denying access to abortions, they are forcing single women that might choose otherwise...to become single mothers

And then of course the bitching about having their tax dollars going to public assistance and day care to help support these families.

Hypocritical? It's insane.

I’m old enough to remember when “giving handouts” to folks that have children and need public assistance was verboten-

Ladies were reproducing just to live off the government teat? That was the complaint in the 90’s-

Newt Gingrich had a field day. Clinton signed “Welfare to Work” legislation in 1996, and to this day says it’s the thing he regrets most about his presidency.

And now it’s a 180 degree flip?
