They don't deserve a ****ing thing! This lying about what actually happened, and why, continues.

What would you say the odds are that this gets signed into law?

Really bad message to send. 'Illegally immigrate to the US and win the lottery!' As if we don't have enough migrants flooding in already now.

It was not a logical policy to separate families. Before "You just love illegals" comes at me, let me be clear. It was a bad policy because the people broke the law together and should be held together as much as possible while processing their case. If someone robs a bank yes their child would be taken away but you can't compare an adult committing a crime to an entire family breaking the law and how the deportation process works versus foster care.

It's also not a logical policy to make large settlements like that to people who broke the law.

What a surprise, bad decisions all around the government when it comes to immigration policy. Meanwhile their rich donors, and themselves, hire and aid these people enticing them with jobs.

Is separating families at the border a problem? Yes. Any family units that come across the border together should be kept together until a deportation hearing. (In detention, not shuffled around the US and disappearing never to be seen again)

Should American taxpayers that had absolutely ZERO say in separating families have THEIR tax money funneled to undocumented and illegal immigrants as 'reparations' for those separations? Absolutely not.

Two wrongs don't make a right. They were harmed by the United States government, and they deserve compensation.

agreed, there are too many Americans ahead of them

They were separated because the adult wasn't their parent! HELLO!

Curious how anti-prison reform the Biden administration is. One of the core principles of prison reform was that children are never incarcerated with adults, including family members, to protect the children from abuse.

Court ruling made it illegal to detain kids with adults.

This is why strong border controls are important and every conservative and liberal developed country has them, except us. The fewer people who are able to cross illegally, the fewer people we have to detain, and the lower the expense for us - whether that expense involves housing them within the US until they can be returned/processed, or paying settlements because of a separation. Our policy should be focused first and foremost on making sure this is Mexico's problem as much as it is ours. In my opinion this should be a bipartisan matter of security and fiduciary responsibility, not a left vs. right issue.

Without strong border controls we forever will be treating symptoms rather than the root cause.

Everything terrible that happens at our borders is a direct result of the state not allowing people to cross them freely.

Open borders is the only sensible and humane solution.

So imagine tearing a family apart because you think you have the right to limit someone else's right to free movement, and then having the audacity to say "I don't owe you anything, **** you for wanting a better life and shit. You should have done it the RiGhT WaY and been violent colonizers like my ancestors or waltz through Ellis Island in a day." Oh wait, that's not actually the immigration regime we have right now either.

Amazing how so many "Christians" and "libertarians" and supposed "freedom-lovers" ave the balls to defend this evil regime.

In April, the New York Times reported:

Some migrants have admitted they brought their children not only to remove them from danger in such places as Central America and Africa, but because they believed it would cause the authorities to release them from custody sooner.
Others have admitted to posing falsely with children who are not their own, and Border Patrol officials say that such instances of fraud are increasing.

Don't understand why 'Remain in Mexico' policy was rescinded by the Biden administration's Open Border Radicals.
Did they not consider what the results would be? (That'd be pretty typical).

We, that's right-you and I, kidnapped those kids. Time to pay the penalty.

No, but your policy would be an idiot's policy, because no one else on the planet has that policy. It would be insane to let them FREELY cross the border; not even socialist countries do that. WTF is wrong with you?

Do you think the government has to check in with you?
Yes, because that's not in any law. Pretty dumb question unless you admire the Soviet Union.

Sorry to inform you that the government is not going to ask your permission. Carry on.
