In order to secure her "Yes" vote, Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune promised Murkowski that Alaska would receive certain exemptions not available to the lower 48 states.

I used to admire Murkowski. But when the decisive moment came, Murkowski caved and is no better than the MAGA pack that also voted "Yes" despite knowing the harm that Trump's "Big Cruel Bill" will inflict on tens of millions of Americans.

Not only is Murkowski spineless like her GOP brethern, she is also an obvious hypocrite. Murkowski is no John McCain.

Murkowski negotiated herself into a Yes. She kept asking and Thune kept giving. Ultimately, Thune did not need her, or at least convinced her he didn't, and she got what she could.
