Republican Rep. Barton apologizes to BP for Obama 'shakedown'

What everyone here seems to be conveniently ignoring is that there is a legal liability cap that was established in 1990 of $75 million. This cap is null and void if gross negligence or violation of safety regulations has been shown. It has not been shown as of yet. Not saying that BP did nothing wrong, but they should have their day in court to legally establish what indeed did happen, and if they are legally liable. Do any of you care that what Obama and our congress did is essentially unethical, and possibly illegal by coercing a private corporation to cough up money beyond what they are possibly legally liable for?
