Republican David Valadao concedes in California, giving Democrats a net gain of 40 seats in the House

12/6/18
Republican Rep. David Valadao conceded to Democrat TJ Cox in the race for California's 21st District on Thursday, giving the Democratic Party a net gain of 40 seats in the US House of Representatives. Trump's harsh immigration rhetoric, his trade policies that threatened Central Valley farmers and the distaste for the Republican tax bill in California, which Valadao supported, ended up being too much of a drag on the Central Valley congressman.

There may be more Dem wins depending on the final disposition of the GOP vote-fraud charges in North Carolina.

Magic number 40.

After early hopes of 30-something were talked down to modest predictions of 20-something and then the seats kept rolling in, yes 40 is impressive.
