Representative Michele Bachmann becomes a Swiss citizen
Minnesota congresswoman and former US presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is now a citizen of Switzerland.
Mrs Bachmann, 55, is eligible for dual citizenship through her husband, who is of Swiss descent, a spokeswoman said.
Why?
Can you imagine the uproar if President Obama had dual citizenshiip? But IOKIYAAR!

It's only good news if she decides to move there.
I have a problem with that, regardless of party. Those of us with reasonably high security clearances can’t hold dual citizenship so why should a Representative be allowed to?
At the very least she should be removed from the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence if she wants to keep her dual citizenship.
Maybe she and her hubby will go over there and fix Swiss Gays...
what she going to do-leak our chocolate secrets to swiss confectionaries? let them in on digital cuckoo clock technologies? Make the Swiss guards convert from Catholic to bible thumper?
they have gays there? who the hell would walk around in Lederhosen if there were gay guys out a cruising?:2razz:
They're getting ready to flee the country if Obama wins.
For me it is more about fairness. If my friend, who works in the community, had to renounce his UK citizenship in order to obtain his clearance, why the hell should a member of the Committee on Intelligence be allowed to go off and become a foreign citizen?

Is Obama going to apply for US citizenship?
Maybe Bachmann makes more sense in Swedish.
