A St. Louis County grand jury has completed deliberations in the case of Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, whose fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen in August touched off weeks of sometimes violent protests, multiple media outlets reported Monday.CNN and The Washington Post reported that prosecutor Robert McCulloch will announce later Monday whether Wilson, 28, will face charges in the death of Michael Brown, 18, on a Ferguson street Aug. 9.

The jury has apparently made its decision. Announcement will be made sometime later today.

So... anyone have an over/under bet on how quickly there will be riots in Ferguson (and elsewhere?)

Either way isn't the situation so ****ed that somebody will blow?

If he skates, there's going to be bad feelings in one camp, and if he's charged, well.....?

Why is nothing ever resolved when it come to race and crime,. I mean even OJ is still and issue divided almost exclusively along racial lines, the Florida stand your ground shooting the same...

Is it because the judicial system seems to be ****ed or because simply no one trusts anyone anymore?

Oh great, an announcement on a decision being made, another announcement on what that decision is later....Hey, maybe we can break the record for the amount of incremental threads posted on one day.....

On issue I mean seriously, don't these people know that doing it like this is just building the anticipation, and will make the reaction worse?

Seems that Is the intention.

"Don't let a crisis go to waste."

Oh, why is it we make such a big deal about the ambiguous cases when there are enough cut and dry cases of police abuse of power?

delaying the announcement means he's probably not indicted.

Yup..

If anyone here lives in Houston, steer clear of 288 right around the Dome area.

When Zimmerman was let off " protesters " blocked it off and assaulted people in their vehicles.

I dunno.. I recall that the activists were asking (and the authorities originally agreed) for 2 days notice.. That they are getting less may indicate otherwise. Folly to try to guess either way, I guess.

What stand your ground shooting? You don't mean Zimmerman? That wasn't SYG lol.

Get the pest control ready. The cockroaches are about to come out.

We are in the "at least" 48 period after the decision.
I know of at least one Law Enforcement agency that was told what the GJ decision was Saturday so they can be prepared.
I doubt that it is any different for any other LE Agency.

So.. Is the claim they reached a decision on Friday and just didn't make it public?

my heart goes out to all those small business owners near the protest area. the anguish this must be putting them through. If the protesters don't get their "justice" the businesses are going be the first to get torched.

Got my popcorn ready. "Let the games begin"

Whatever the number, I'll take the under.

Reports are that Al has his troops lined up, masks on, and maps to the stores with the best TV's and shoes in their pockets.

The only way he could be indicted is if the grand jury has been intimidated by the threats of violence by anti-white racist scumbags.

The African-Americans in Furgeson have been threatening to murder and rape white women if Wilson is not indicted and convicted. Their threats of "No justice, no peace" is at the very least a racial hate crime and they should all be arrested.

By what St.Louis already released as agreed to ~ A 48 hour notification before public release.

If a decision comes Friday, prosecutors are expected to provide law enforcement with 48 hours notice before making a public announcement, possibly on Sunday.

Grand jury could rule Friday in Michael Brown death - CNN.com

They wont do that at this point I don't think. The schools have closed for the week. They will want to go ahead and get it over with to so that all can be said and done by the holiday. I wouldn't be surprised if they waited till morning. Seems like riots would be a bit less intense and easier to handle during daylight hours. Could be wrong.

Yes, I know that was the original intent.. I think they may have chucked that agreement, though. With many agencies reporting no decision was made and the GJ would reconvene today to continue "deliberations". I certainly could be wrong, but I havent' yet seen any evidence indicating so.

You don't have to believe me, but a LE agency that I know of received notice Saturday.

Like I told the above poster. A LE Agency I know of was told Saturday.

So while the Police did not agree to the 48 hour time table as it was out side the scope of their purview, the Prosecutor has control and I believe he had agreed to that demand, so yeah he could have changed things up. And he could have known what the decision was going to be before they met today and let specific agencies know 48 hours ago what was most likely to happen.
So either the Command lied to their Officers, or it is true.

I can't tell you any more than that.
Maybe it is untrue and they were just going off of unconfirmed reports. Yet I doubt that.
