Note to dumb people: Just because the government is shut down does not mean you can break the law. Your dumbass will still be arrested for doing stuff like this.

If she's a conservative, she'll be portrayed as an evil Tea Partier that is out to destroy the government.

If she's a liberal, she'll be the victim of Republicans and their unwillingness to negotiate with Obama.

I don't think the political leanings of the victim can be judged as the motive.

She was obviously insane.

Although, there is still the possibility that it was a planned assassination attempt. She could have thought that reduced staffing during the shut-down meant reduced security.

That said, the fact that she's a woman is strange.

I first thought, maybe this person was sick and went unconscious and wrecked. Perhaps an epileptic seizure or something.

But then I read she had a gun and was firing shots. Ok, WTF. Who would do something like this with a child in the car? What a ****ing moron.

I can't believe somebody would do this to their own kid, assuming she is the mother. At least leave your kid at home if you're planning on killing people, including yourself. WTF is wrong with people.

Shots fired at U.S. Capitol, female suspect killed - NBC Politics

The United States Capitol was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after a woman tried to ram a car into the White House gate, was chased by Secret Service and exchanged shots with police, sources said.
The suspect — who sources said had a child in the car — was shot and killed, and a shelter-in-place order was lifted at about 3 p.m. At least one Capitol Police officer was injured during the pursuit.
"This appears to be an isolated incident," said Capitol Police Chief Kim Dine. "Both scenes are under control."

I kinda feel bad for whichever sharpshooter probably put her down. A car rams the gate at the White House, obviously you have to react as if there's a bomb in it and take them out immediately. Then later you find out is was just some woman who snapped and had her kid with her, who got to watch its mom go crazy and then get shot.

Also feel bad for the kid.

They usually are. Even when Adam Lanza went insane, the media was trying to figure out what the political influences were, in his life, in order to try and pin it on a political party.

but you are right, extreme risk for an act that is so insane must be taken and the goal had to be extreme prejudice and illuminate.

Victim? The one committing the crime is the perpetrator. The person/people the crime was aimed at and innocent bystanders are victims.

Have any of you seen the video? This is bizarre. They are also saying she had no weapon and this began after ramming the White House gate before driving off.
