Apparently the Pentagon has finally declassified papers that show that WMD's have been found, chemical weapons that Saddam claimed he didn't have. First Rove, now this, I guess Kerry may have to once again flip flop, lol.

You beat me to it, 500 sarin and mustard gas munitions found in Iraq, reports Sen. Rick Santorum after the declassification of certain documents.

That's awesome!! Woooohoooo!!!

Maybe now we will be able to wipe some of this egg off of our national face....

But wait a minute............

Hmmmmmmmm.......

Are we to believe that Bush has been taking all this heat for all this time and yet decided it was best not to disclose this finding regardless?

Don't keep us in suspense Dee! Give us a link here. I wanna read all about it.

Just, please...no NewsMax or FreeRepublic BS.

This is GREAT news. Share it with the class. AP hasn't picked up on this yet. Perhaps you'd better tell them too!

17. Starting a Thread: When starting a thread it is best to express your own thoughts in your own words. Threads w/o original content may be summarily closed.

It's fitting, fine, well, and good that the initial, thread-starting post (called the thread's Original Post- OP for short) quotes another person or document. References, particularly in matters of fact, are encouraged. But they are no substitute for your own thoughts in your own words.

Using your own words in your OP encourages participation. By starting the conversation with a contribution of your own time and effort, you show potential participants you are serious in your intention to engage in dialogue. It says that if they reply to your posts, you are likely to respond to theirs.

??????????????

Guess this combined with the death of Zarqawi puts a damper in the Dems November campaign.

You ever think maybe that was the point?

Think about it, you ever notice how the important stuff never seems to happen unless an important election is comming up?

When did we find Saddam? When all the buzz about the 2004 elections started stirring up in Dec of 03....

Now with the mid-terms comming up, we manage to find Zarquawi AND release info about finding WMDs.

Vierd.. very very veird.......

"Breaking News" has special rules:

1. All posts must have a link to a news article, accompanied by some original commentary.

2. The title of every post must be identical to the title of the news story headline. This is important as it helps to avoid multiple topics about an issue, while starting discussions out on a more neutral basis.

If a story is titled "Rice Negotiates With UN about Iran Nukes," then that should be the title of your thread, not "Warmongers Lie to try to Start WWIII" or "Condi Stands up to Euro-Wusses."

3. All news stories should be from within the past 48 hours. If they are outside of that, please post them in the relevant discussion forum.

http://www.debatepolitics.com/break...es-rules-please-read-before-posting-here.html

I was under the impression that people had to reread the rules once we changed them before starting a thread in this forum. Did you have to check a little box?

Regardless, those are the rules. At the very least, please provide a link.

I believe that sarin gas has a shelf-life of something like 3 months. Yeah, that's a real weapon of mass destruction.

Re: WMD's FOUND!!!

got any links to back this up?

Re: WMD's FOUND!!!

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything on the wire so far. Deegan, Trajan, how did you guys find out about this?

I did not know that "breaking news" had special rules, and this news is so new, there is no link to provide, I think you are making much too much of this anyway.

I know, it sounds a little... "conspiracy theory" like, but c'mon, you really think its a coincidence that all the good info comes out around election time????

I mean, I just read an article earlier today while I was at work that was talking about Sen. Santorum's declining support.... strange that he was the person who announced it, if what these guys are saying is true.

That would make Santorum look good, now wouldn't it?

My head doesn't hurt right now in fact.

Im glad that, if the news is true, since I haven't seen anything on it, I didn't go to Iraq for no reason. It only makes me more happy that I didn't waste my stinkin' life, and the two guys I served with in my company who died in combat didn't lose thier lives for nothing.

Of course, something like that comming from a "dirty liberal" must be a lie huh?

Are you going to go NP on me too?

Not at all, I just thought you would be as confused as I, why didn't this admin. want us to know they had found WMD's?

Re: WMD's FOUND!!!

I wont get too excited untill this is confirmed. I also wont hold my breath waiting on the leftwing loonies to admit they were wrong.

but for those that claim they arent WMDs because of shelf life

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarin

Efforts to lengthen shelf life
According to the CIA, nations such as Iraq have tried to overcome the problem of sarin's short shelf life in two ways:

The shelf life of unitary (i.e., pure) sarin may be lengthened by increasing the purity of the precursor and intermediate chemicals and refining the production process.
Incorporating a stabiliser chemical called tributylamine. Later this was replaced by diisopropylcarbodiimide (di-c-di), which allowed for GB nerve agent to be stored in aluminum casings.
Developing binary chemical weapons, where the two precursor chemicals are stored separately in the same shell, and mixed to form the agent immediately before or when the shell is in flight. This approach has the dual benefit of making the issue of shelf life irrelevant and greatly increasing the safety of sarin munitions

Think what you want. Those are the rules, and all threads in this forum follow it. Notice all the [title changed]s?

No link at all? I'm moving to "War in Iraq." Feel free to restart it when this "breaking news" actually hits the news. We don't make special allowances, even for you.

Yeah, seriously, if for NO other reason than to give the troops a boost in morale.

Troops don't really care about much, But they do want to know:

1. When thier food is comming
2. When thier guard shift is up.
3. Why the **** am I doing what I am doing!

I mean, they have to do it anyways, but it always makes you more motivated when you know why, and you know its right.

Contrary to the "media face" that the troops always put on when they are on TV or being interviewed, not every soldier thinks that everything is great, grand, and wonderful. And not every troop's heart is behind the mission, especially when they were lied to in the beginning. But they do what they have to, because if they don't, the government screws them. But most of us aren't pansies like that anyways.
