The British Army has launched an investigation after an intruder posing as a priest reportedly spent the night at the barracks of troops who guard Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle

Funny somehow - but it might have had serious consequences

More:

The Sun newspaper and broadcaster Talk TV reported that the man was admitted to Victoria Barracks last week after claiming to be a friend of the battalion’s padre. It said he spent the evening eating and drinking with senior officers before being offered a bed for the night, despite showing no identification or credentials.

Yeah ... bu ... but he was a "man of god", right? So it must be OK.
It's amazing how gullible people are when they think they're dealing with "a man of god". Knowing what we know, if anything, those kind of claims or credentials should make people MORE suspicious!

That reminds me:
If you are a "Captain of the German Imperial Army" - then you also must be OK! :).

Friedrich Wilhelm Voigt (13 February 1849 – 3 January 1922) was a German impostor who, in 1906, masqueraded as a Prussian military officer, rounded up a number of soldiers under his "command", and "confiscated" more than 4,000 marks from a municipal treasury. Although he served two years in prison, he became a folk hero as "the Captain of Köpenick" (German: der Hauptmann von Köpenick [ˈhaʊptman fɔn ˈkøːpənɪk] (listen)) and was pardoned by Kaiser Wilhelm II

Anybody from England here? :)

News from England - and news from royalty seems un-interesting ....

This reminds me of the recent story about the American secret service being infiltrated by men posing as federal agents. My question, though, is how you can verify a guy in a collar is a fake priest. Even the real ones have a fake god.

What "The Guardian" knows:

An investigation into an “extraordinary breach of security” is under way after an intruder pretending to be a priest reportedly spent the night eating and drinking with soldiers at a barracks close to Windsor Castle.

Police were alerted to reports of an intruder at Victoria Barracks on Sheet Street, Windsor on Wednesday, while the Queen was at Sandringham for Easter.

The soldiers had reportedly been approached at the gate by the man, who said his name was Father Cruise. He allegedly went on to spend the night eating and drinking with senior officers despite showing no identification or credentials. The man was also offered a bed for the night.
