This is an old debate. Greece can demand all they want, almost meaningless.

It does not help Greece that the issue of reparations for WWI and WWII came up during Greece's debt crisis back in 2010, nor that Greece typically blames Germany for how all the votes occurred for austerity in exchange for bailout loans around the same time.

Greece owes Germany billions, this seems like nothing more than an avoidance measure.

World War reparations: Greece DEMANDS €377 billion from Germany in ‘compensation’ | World | News | Express.co.uk

I don't quite agree with an inter-generational responsibility. As evil and terrible as the nazis were, they are now dead. There's also the problem of how far back in history one wants to go. Is present day Britain responsible for the crimes of Oliver Cromwell? I don't think so.

As I read history, it seems that the Greeks were operating a pretty robust empire back in the day.

Shouldn't they pay those reparations first?

The German reparations issue with Greece was settled.

In 1945, 1953 and 1990.

Somewhat germane to the topic, the same goes for reparations to Poland.
