Rep. Mo Brooks says Trump asked him to 'rescind the 2020 election,' remove Biden and call special election

He won't debate. He'll just call them "rigged", and "biased" against him.
 
I have no idea why Mo Brooks is throwing Trump under the bus now, over a year after the insurrection. There were plenty of opportunities to get off the Trump Train when it actually mattered, and Mo Brooks rode it to the bitter end. **** him. He doesn't deserve a redemption arc.

I don’t think it’s going to happen. Although trump’s monumental ego may drive him to it.

Whether he’s the candidate or not, his antics will play havoc with GOP candidates all through the primaries, and almost certainly into the general as well.

It's not redemption, it's revenge. trump withdrew his endorsement

If Trump runs, forget it. GOP primary will be a complete shit show. Even if he doesn't run Trump will serve as a distraction/disruption as he plays kingmaker. And when it comes to the GOP, he would be - candidates will fawn over him hoping for his coveted endorsement. There's little evidence the party is ready to move on from him.

Prediction: If Trump doesn'r run he will offer someone his endorsement, then demand they come out in support of his Big Lie. Candidate will scramble to find the most diplomatic way of mollifying Trump without sounding like part of his unhinged base. "There were certainly some irregularities that I feel need to be investigated and resolved - NOW CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT ABORTION OR THE TRANSGENDERED OR RUSSIA???"

A poll I saw a few days ago said Brooks was losing anyway, third place. He had little to lose.

Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama on Wednesday said Donald Trump had asked him to "rescind" the 2020 presidential election, "remove" President Joe Biden from his office, "immediately put" Trump back in the White House and hold a new special presidential election.




"As a lawyer, I've repeatedly advised President Trump that January 6 was the final election contest verdict and neither the U.S. Constitution nor the U.S. Code permit what President Trump asks. Period," Brooks said.

"I've told President Trump the truth knowing full well that it might cause President Trump to rescind his endorsement," he continued. "But I took a sworn oath to defend and protect the U.S. Constitution. I honor my oath. That is the way I am. I break my sworn oath for no man."

One would hope that he would but unfortunately by the end of the day, they tend to tuck tail and squeal away. I'm hoping that DJT will find reasons to keep poking him and then maybe, just maybe, a really pissed off Brooks will pay the 1/6 Committee a visit.

Trump rescinded his endorsement of Brooks and said mean things about him recently.

So republicans will just call him a RINO and say that he's making all this up because he's salty about that.
