I'm just curious, how many people here have been to a Renaissance Fair?

I just got done going through the pictures for our last visit (Second one of the season!). If anyone lives in the SoCal or Southwest US area, I HIGHLY recommend a visit to the Irwindale Ren Faire

The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire

This is THE Ren Faire to go to for a great time. I've been going for three years (usually three times a season, this is the only year I've only gone twice) and it's a blast every time.

Couple pieces of advice, dont buy a tail unless you know the meaning , come opening weekend if you can, and DEFINITELY stop by the Far East corner on the way to the jousting arena.

Catch a Baba-Ku show if you can, they're great

Bey'Abi is good as well, but I much prefer Baba-Ku

For regulars, sad news, the Pantsless Pirate is no longer Pantsless And Ravenswood is gone

I went to the one here and well, I was hugely disappointed.
You had to pay for almost all the entertainment and that's after you paid to get in the door.

I mean seriously, you have to pay for the cheapo wooden kid rides.
That was last year.
Won't be going back.

I havent gone to the one near me. Bristol Renaissance. The parking was $15 and the entrance fee was pretty high too. I have a think against paying for parking. I do hear some of the wenches put out though

Entrance at the SoCal one is $25 at the door and yes everything inside is VERY expensive. But you can easily get by with just the entrance fee and parking.

i've only been to one, it was exorbitantly priced, and i got kicked out for hitting on a security guard in shakespearian english.
