Remember, Trump said Putin was a “genius”.

if you underestimate your enemy, you lose.
so children in the Ukraine must have their homes and all their possessions and their parents destroyed by bombs?

No. Putin has to be dealt with cleverly. He can't just be thrown under the bus like some 5th rate, middle eastern dictator. Maybe you don't know this, but he has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. The rules are a bit different in that situation.

My oh my, what are the American Evangelicals going to do? They can't support Trump in this now that Putin has been proven a murdering war criminal guilty of crimes against humanity, can they? Are they going to condemn Trump's hard fast "genius" stance on Putin?

Empathy is a man-made word!

But, in all seriousness, don't you believe the depth of most "leaders" is the need to be an autocrat? Humans are not really that progressive and didn't evolve to not be into autocrats...
Especially the suthun confederate mentality with its inherent daddy issues. They want to be taken care of by a strong daddy figure and are willing to do anything for him under that desired scenario.

Trump has staked out nearly every position on this war, all of them bad.

It’s kind of amazing, when you think about it. The laws of odds would demand that if he’s staking out every position there is on this issue, one of them ought to be good. But not trump! He can find all the bad positions.

He's just an evil guy who worships money.
And yet he is no only “business man” to ever lose a billion dollars…

He has never actually made a penny in his life, he just borrows other peoples money and losing it…

Trump says regrettable things sometimes...that's about as far as the bankruptcy of today's Conservatives allow for. But they won't hold him to account for that of course...just mention it.
How else is it possible to keep up support for a psychopath?

Don't forget, Don Jr. clarified that his dad fawning all over dictators like Kim Jong Un and Putin was a demonstration of his masterful negotiation skills; draw them in and make them feel like allies so you can get what you want.

Never mind that Trump got absolutely nothing from Putin or Kim Jong, or that he is no longer even in a position to obtain anything from them but keeps fawning over Putin anyway.

Should this sloth actually make a run at the presidency in 2024, does his cult think Americans are going to forget stuff like this? Or 1/6? Or the big lie?
I have a better chance of being elected president in 2024 and I'm not even running.
Don't sell the power of the cult short. We did once and it nearly cost us our democracy.

Human nature includes the capacity for both autocracy and democracy, love and hate, generosity and greed, inclusion and exclusion. We have far more choice in which we choose to be than many people think.

Those people who appeal to human nature to say that we HAVE to be one way or the other because that’s what we REALLY are usually have an ulterior motive and agenda. Don’t listen to them. We can be whatever we choose to be.

no, democrats aren't democracy lol
Sure they are. They follow everything that is stated in the constitution and defend it. Trump and the Republicans are the ones that tried to change the Constitution and make the U.S. an aristocracy.

You have no idea what you are saying. Words are cheap.

Yes, humans are animals and they choose to be with what is familiar. You can't choose to change someone and most individuals will choose to go between a mix of what you have said.

That said, most humans are autocrats. There is no denying that, if you do you are failing to understand the most basic evolution of humans-and all animals.

Maybe the cult will go the way that it went in Jonestown. It certainly would resolve the problem.

more evidence of Trump living rent free in the minds of many

btw-like it or not-anyone who ends up being the top dog in Russia is a genius-albeit a ruthless calculating SOB.

Can anyone think of anything dumber than trying to reuse that line about a former (and likely worst ever) president who still controls one of the two major parties and is going to run again in the very next presidential election?

Anything?

Ah well... maybe I just don't can't comprehend the genius of his comment. Didn't go to Yale, y'see.

Of course, levels of competence will differ and by some degree, it depends on who they surround themselves with. But, nearly, every leader has a level of autocracy to them. That's what's called natural.
Nonsense. Many leaders have the opposite tendencies.

Yes let's start calling murderous thugs geniuses. That is the Trump way.

Trust me, I don't downplay the dedication of his cult. Clearly they are willing to go straight off the cliff with him and smile all the way until they hit bottom. Perhaps the most prescient comment Trump ever made was bragging that he could shoot someone on 5th avenue in NYC and not lose any votes from his supporters. Not something to be proud of, but he was obviously right on this point.

But I am confident that the independents or the middle of the road republicans who were willing to give Trump a shot in 2016 will never make that mistake again.
