We wanted historical change, and what the Electoral College gave us was Donald Dork instead of the popular-vote win by Hillary.
The cost of postsecondary education is much larger than you may think. Hillary had made a proposition to institute a national-program for post-secondary education funding by the US government. That personal subsidy would have pulled a great-many kids out of poverty and into a decent standard-of-living!
You don't remember? (Because with Biden and a possible switch of the Senate to the Dems, it is still an option!) Here's how Hillary wanted to do it: Making college debt-free and taking on student debt
Had that program been adopted more young Americans would be graduating in the future with the competencies that our New & Different Economy requires of them.
But, no, an antiquated and fundamentally undemocratic Electoral College voting-mechanism erroneously decided otherwise. So, now, OUR KIDS - with parents that cannot afford even state post-secondary public-schooling - WILL NOT BE OBTAINING DEGREES THAT WOULD GET THEM A DAMN FINE JOB AT A DECENT INCOME!
Biden likely will get around to a law that allows the poorest of our people to better their lives by means of a suitable-and-very-low-cost post-secondary education in a public-institution of higher learning. The question is simply "when".
What does "post-secondary education mean"? Everything - soup to nuts! That is, it covers training at the basic job-level right through all further degrees up to and including a Doctorat! And nothing less ... !
PS: But, of course, if the Replicants keep control of the Senate, all bets are off for giving the poorest amongst us the ability to educate themselves out of poverty.
PPS: And how will we pay for it? Out of the taxation of higher incomes that further schooling degrees will allow those who pursue a post-secondary education!
