Why does it seem that any religion other than Christianity is able to publicly state Hate Speech and that their right to discuss their feelings is acceptable, since we don't want to suppress any people's "Religious Beliefs". But with Christians it is not acceptable. Are other religions more mysterious? What is the psychological thing that allows people to accept this double standard. If we saw thousands of christians in London marching and screaming Death to Islam...Death to Persians! There would be an outcry like you have never heard from our media, but we are shown media of them doing so all of the time, over cartoons, over just about anything.
Is an open discussion even possible?
Your thoughts?
Why does it seem that any religion other than Christianity is able to publicly state Hate Speech?
Hateuy, there are preachers here that preach death to those outside their religion simply because they are different? And THOSE people get invited to the White House? Like who?
Personally, I have yet to see any march or assembly in the USA that had a "Death to Anybody" theme. Can you direct to one that has happened so that I can be better balanced and informed please?
On the June 8, 1998 edition of his show, Robertson denounced Orlando, Florida and Disney World for allowing a privately sponsored "Gay Days" weekend. Robertson stated that the acceptance of homosexuality could result in hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, terrorist bombings and "possibly a meteor."[18] The resulting outcry prompted Robertson to return to the topic on June 24, where he quoted the Book of Revelation to support his claims.
You Tube DL's don't work on my cpu, so I couldn't see that one. But organized marches chanting death are a far cry from a website or even a preacher preaching in his little lonely church.
I see your point and I won't argue further other than to say that it is a debate between degrees. The degree to which some preach death is far less than others. All are wrong, but a few whackos is not as disturbing as a LOT of whackos IMO.
What? Do you think people believe it's acceptable for muslims to go out and chant "death to the west"? LOL dont make me laugh. There are many televangelist pastors who's message is one of hate and instead of being reprimanded for their words are rewarded with trips to the white house to meet the president. Christians need to get over this victim complex they have. A christian pastor preaching the destruction of homosexuals is no different then a shi'ite cleric preaching the destruction of Israel. End of story.

How you leftwingers can say that those nut cases represent the feelings of Christianity is beyond me..........
Groups like the Westboro Baptist Church aka "God hates fags" share many of the same beliefs as other fundamentalist "Christian" groups...they are just more vocal about it. This is the complaint that I have with most "Christian" groups. When you look at the core of their agenda, it is politically based and has little if anything to do with the teachings of Christ.
The Christian Groups I know of believe in loving the sinner and hating the sin be it gay sex or adultery.....
Thats interesting, a preferable take on the scripture in my opinion, but shouldn't they be calling to stone adulterers and homosexuals?
I don't believe modern day Christianity supports those action..............At least the Catholic Church does not.......

I think u miss the point of the scripture.
It means they DESERVE to be stoned. Just like i deserve to go to hell.
Lucky for us though, God is forgiving.
Did Jesus not say, "whoever is without sin may cast the first stone"? So if and only if we are without sin should we stone them.
No, I really don't. I think you miss the point of the Old Testament.
The former statement is a falsification of morality, and bigotry. The latter may or may not be true, depending on the existence of hell, among other things...
Lucky for us? How presumptuous of you... I don't believe in your god.
Miss the point of the old testament? who are you to say what i miss and what i dont, your not a christian as you just said.
Let a christian judge what i miss.
The old testament was directed at God's chosen people, not the world as a whole. God wanted his people to be a pure people.
That youtube video is neat. However the interviewer seemed just as rabid as the preacher. Maybe they need each other to feel good.
Rabid. Like he isn't all together mentally stable. Like he's an idiot.
The guy goes looking for trouble, wandering the halls of that cult, and then attempts to start up a debate with the cult leader. Who does something like that other than an idiot?
When the cult leader says something slightly off key he starts talking about how science is so great because it is flexible enough to change. It's like he's found something to debate and starts subconciously salivating. It's disgusting. He should go back to nerd school and leave the cultists alone. Maybe they'll decide to swallow some punch and leave this world a better place.
