I'm inspired to make this post because of an event I seen. I watch 2 old priest close their eyes and one priest touched the other one of the head saying a prayer. What do I conclude from this incident?

The bible doesn't make any mention that closing your eyes / touching another person is needed to say a prayer; its a religious custom not in the religion.

So I conclude that some people are misinterpreting their religion and that there are religious cultures out there.

I think that...

A religion saying that an animal is sacred is usually because of the people at the time had the animal near for them to see. What happens if the animal becomes extinct?

Why Muslims Pray Five Times A Day

For Muslims, they pray to the direction of Qibla, a place about half way around the world from the U.S.

But what exactly is facing that direction? Meaning that the head of your body is closer to the destination that the rest of your body? Why would that make a difference.

Lets not forget that Muslims at one time, imposed heavy taxes for people who did not memorize / believe in there religion (so that the religion would spread) and beheaded people at one time for not praying 5 times a day.

Lets assume Qibla is half way around the world, that means you need to pray upside down to be facing that direction . Nearly all religions around the world include specific objects of worship or (sacred) species of animals, but not the religion based on the bible.

Anyways, I think there are many misconceptions about the bible. For example stoning people ( lol ), and the bible doesn't condone stoning or judging people. Other misconceptions are that its a sinful to not attend church service, that a ceremony is required for two people to marry, that you can only pray by folding your hands (the bible doesn't even make reference to folding your hands to pray), etc...

Find one quote from the bible proving me wrong. I believe that people observing these religious customs that aren't backed up by religion that the people are observing are assuming that its a part of the religion.

Is your point that worship is a human act? I'm not sure what you're getting at. Of course our practice of worship reflect our human customs--what exactly is wrong with that (if that is indeed what you are saying)?

This diatribe is what happens when cynical literalism is applied to relative symbology.

One could argue that religion itself is mostly derived from human customs. One would have my hearty approval if they did so...

The customs you mention are just ways that humans express their religion. Things like this change over time - that's just the way it is. The bible makes no mention of Chrismas Trees, advent candles or the Easter bunny. But they have evolved and become traditions nonetheless.

Such is the nature of humanity and religion.
